In my opinion, going with Penn Foster or Ashworth University High School are both better choices than getting a GED. Both Penn Foster and Ashworth are regionally accredited high schools. The online part doesn't even come into play. Either would be acceptable (and likely more acceptable than a GED) to colleges.

Thanks for the plug. While I am proud of both Complete Guide to Online High Schools and Bears' Guide to Earning High School Diplomas Nontraditionally, I should mention that I have a second edition of Complete Guide coming out this summer (so if you are looking to buy the book, you may want to wait; lots of updates!).

Howdy all,
I am a new member here, but have posted extensively on other distance learning boards. I am in "the biz" having written 3 and 9/10 books on distance & alternative education. Three of the books are in the Bears' Guide series (distance learning, high school diplomas, education degrees) and one, Complete Guide to Online ...
