You've already mentioned your best option. It doesn't get any faster or cheaper than CLEP exams...and the military is a big supporter of CLEP exams. They push those things a lot.
There are CLEP exams which are worth six credit hours, so your best bet is to pick a subject that you are good at, spend a little time ...

I did almost a year's worth of credit through CLEP tests and I loved it! To pass a CLEP test (or similar test like DANTES/DSST, ECE, or TECEP), you either have to know the material already or else learn it ahead of time through independent study or some other means. Either way if you pass the test it demonstrates that you know the ...

Dennis is totally right, CLEP and DSST exams can save you a lot of money. Just be sure that whichever school you're selecting will accept them (almost all do) and that the tests you're considering won't duplicate any transfer credit.
It's also true you may want to look at Thomas Edison State College, Excelsior College, and ...

I'm in the same boat as you, and I've been slowly but surely knocking out the credits I need for a degree. Trust me, an associate degree is not enough these days. At a minimum, you need a bachelor degree. The bachelor degree today is like the high school degree was about 30 years ago...without one, it is very, very ...
-
I don't know if an associate's degree is enough, honestly. It would really depend on the industry that you're in and the position you're going for (i.e. is it a move up towards management?) You might want to read job descriptions to see what the requirements are or ask HR. But an associate's is definitely a good starting point; ...

Well, I finally did it.
I finished my Narrative Essay. I
have to admit, it wasn’t easy. I
struggled with this thing through writer’s block, extended work hours at my
job, traveling out of town for work and dealing with some issues at home.
I’m actually quite pleased with the assignment ...

I’m a big fan of movies.
Specifically, I’m a big fan of comedies.
One of my favorites is the movie “Old School”. If you haven’t seen it, it’s about a group of
middle-age guys who start their own fraternity even though they aren’t going to
college. In one of the funniest ...

One of the things that convinced me to enroll at Penn
Foster College
rather than another nationally-accredited school is the fact that many of the
courses in Penn Foster’s degree programs are reviewed by the American Council
on Education, or ACE. The vast majority
of colleges and universities, including those that are ...
