I know you've gotten a lot of similar feedback, but I would encourage you to spend a little time and create your own--when you actually go to interview you'll be far more comfortable elaborating on it if you've created it from scratch. I recently came across this video series that was helpful to me--it's a bit dry, but ...

LadyKT: Ok - that's good to know. I mentioned something to my supervisor - she said she never heard of Kaplan Online, but most attorneys aren't tech savy nowadays. I'm hoping to eventually get a job in NYC, so hopefully NYC employers will recognize Kaplan's name and give me some credit towards teaching myself per se. ...

Hi,
I just recieved the information about Penn Foster's Dental Assistant program and I am amazed at how much cheaper it is than a regular vocational school. The brick and morter school I looked into costs thirteen thousand dollars!
Penn Foster's program is under one thousand! Although there's a voluntary clinical course that ...

Hi everyone I have been considering going to American Sentinel Uni. for a BS computer science degree. Currently I have no experience in programming. I work close to 60 hours a work so I have no time to go to a local college, but I really want to learn how to program. My question is after I get this degree from this school will ...

Not to be a broken record....but in the Business world an associate degree won't get you very far. If you're looking to move up the corporate ladder, a bachelor's degree is the bare minimum. You can always get into a Bachelor program and earn the Associate degree along the way.
I'm also going to second Helen's ...

OK, with regards to what kind of education you need:
"There are several ways to become a paralegal. The most common is
through a community college paralegal program that leads to an
associate’s degree. The other common method of entry, mainly for those
who already have a college degree, is through a program that leads to ...

I'm not looking on becoming a vet assistant, I'm not looking to just have a job in a vet clinic, I'm not looking into going to school in order to just have it mean nothing and be cleaning kennels. I want to be a full blown vet tech/technologist doing almost everything a vet does and pursing job opportuntities working in the ...

Hi there!
Don't be sorry - it's okay to not know exactly what you want! To help narrow in on a field of study, have you considered taking a career interests test? The results can help you identify some possible careers or industries for which you may be well suited and that, in turn, may help you decide what kind of degree you want ...

Hello all!
Wonderfull resource you've got going here! I wondered if I might trouble some generous sole for as much advice/links as I can get for someone who hasn't the slightest clue how to start toward an online degree? The theme of this thread is "Getting to Know You" and I ...

im4unc:My last concern is the value of these online schools when it comes to job's.
Wait, are you saying that the last thing you're worried about is an employer's perception of an online degree or that it is your final concern, among other things?

Hello Everyone,
I am in need of some help. I am currently researching online colleges to obtain a paralegal degree and/or certification. I am a single mom with two young girls working a full time job. Supporting my family is obviously a huge priority in my life and I want to ensure that the education I receive from this college is the best ...

I agree with those who say an Associate's isn't enough, but it's better than what you have now and all the credits it takes to get one you'll need anyway for your Bachelor's. I say get an Associate's on the way.
Good luck,

I will have to side with Helen, in todays job market I seriously doubt an associate degree will be sufficient if you intend to climb up the company's ladder. I would go for the BA or BS in Business. I suggest everyone reads the book "the World is Flat" by Thomas Friedman (its now available in paperback for around ...

Hmmm .... IMHO, I would go for the bachelor degree over the associate degree. It would be beneficial to list it on your resume as "In progress" or "Expected 2009"
TESC's Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Transportation/Distribution Management ...

Sorry I took so long to get back to you. Took the kids camping.
I live in Pennsylvania. In trucking, you have supervisors (that's me)...then you have Terminal Managers (that's where I'd like to be....kind of the local guy in charge for the area, city, etc.)...Beyond that, you have the corporate management ...

don't feel bad about wanting to change careers.
it's a known fact that nowadays people don't stay at the same career forever.
and it's actually wise to know a few trades, so do what your heart tells you.
of course also keep in mind your bills and ways of life, we all need money right.
for a part time input, while you're ...
