I recently received a great question from Lee.
I'm attending Kaplan University for my MBA. I've read that you got your BS degree from there. I want to know how good this school is. Is it hard to graduate from here? Is it very well-known by most employers? If I got my MBA degree from here, do you think I can get a good ...

These distance learning universities all offer Ph.Ds.Can anyone rank them in descending order of total students registered (Total student body population in Ph.D programs) in any type of Ph.D program.I assume University of Phoenix is number one. Perhaps Capella or Walden is number two. I do not need the actual numbers, just the ...

Many of you may not have heard of the animated television show King of the Hill, suffice to say it is a show loosely based upon a character from Beavis and Butthead. At least I think it’s based off of him, Tom Anderson.Anyways so I’m eating lunch tonight at work and on a television in the room is this cartoon show where a young ...

It’s week 7: Forecasting and Cash Budgets, Accounts Receivable and Inventory Management. The only number in my head at the moment is “5”. That’s how many weeks we have left in this class. My brain is absolute toast. First we’re getting an overview of the role played by forecasting in the ...

Hi, Scott
I came across your blog online. You are possibly the best person to help me out. I've been going back and forth over whether I should attend Kaplan University to obtain my MBA or Norwich University. I received my undergraduate degree from a regular brick & mortar school. I'm leery about the whole online schools to begin ...

I saw your post on your Kaplan University experience. I was wondering if you had any problems with them at all. Also, when you left Kaplan, did your credits transfer to the other college fine? And do employers look at the degree favorably.
Thanks for the comments. I had little to no problems with Kaplan. Other than one rogue ...

I was in my doctor's office yesterday speaking with a nurse who commented on my bright yellow LSU T-Shirt (what can I say, I'm originally from Baton Rouge) and asked me if I went to school there. I said no, that I was going to school online at Ashford University. She said "oh, that's not that school in Arizona is ...

I currently attend Kaplan University and I’m taking Medical Office Management which also offers Medical Billing and Coding and Financial Statements it's a year long and it's a great course, depending on your income and if you qualify for financial aid you probably wouldn't have to pay for anything. Here is there link ...

Hi there,
My name is Michael Goldberg and I'm a Senior Admissions Advisor with Kaplan University. I know how hard it is to find the right school, so please let me know if I can answer any questions for you.

Welcome aboard! This Debt-Free College Guide might be able to help you figure out how to pay for your education. Don't let anyone pressure you into anything, make sure it's all right for you first! They probably just have a deadline for the forms to be in or something.
Just in case you haven't seen it yet, check out ...

I am currently enrolled at Kaplan and was a little confused about which online university to apply to for Businiess Human Resouces Management. I just found this site while trying to find more information about online school. You guys are really helpful and I appreciate the honesty. I am starting in less than two weeks and I still need ...

Punchy, from my research and experience here is an answer to your questions.
UofP is expensive and very large. If your employer is paying for your education then they are a strong consideration, but if not, I'd keep looking. Additionally UofP uses a lot of group or cohort style work. Personally I'm not a big fan of that ...

Yesterday, I received my B.S. in Criminal Justice diploma in the mail. It is beautiful. The colors are great! However, my feeling of accomplishment is somewhat delayed. I guess I feel this way due to the fact that I will not be attending graduation, and the fact that I graduated *** laude and yet I feel that ...

Oh, I bet. I had a great camaraderie with several of my professors, so meeting them in person after years of email, chatting online, and talking on the phone was a real kick in the head! (In a good way!)
I hope you can go ... it's a really special event.
-
Ann,
Are you going to graduation? You should, if you can. It's a really super feeling. You don't expect to feel as proud as you do. It's sort of nice.
-
I totally agree with your post. I had such a wonderful experience at Kaplan. I am looking forward to receiving my diploma (B.S.) mail soon. The financial advisors, professors and my student advisors were excellent. I must say, I never really spoke with my financial advisor, because I never could get in touch with her but I ...

Hey Alex...
I can only relay my experiences, so here they are:
I have been going to Kaplan for 3.5 years. I will graduate on October 30 with my B.S. in management. I picked Kaplan after trying out University of Phoenix, Grantham, and one other (I can't remember). I found Kaplan to be far superior, much more ...

I was enrolled in the RN to BSN program at Kaplan. I am now with Phoenix. Kaplan's financial aid dept, in my opinion was terrible, I withdrew from one class and should have gotten a 90% refund and was told it was credited to my account, which it was not. I also had a terrible time with them returning my phone calls and getting answers.
I ...

When did you take the computer course? Computers are always changing and going in new directions. Therefore, it is necessary to take the class over. I had taken it a good twenty years ago so you and I both know that they have made major changes in computer technology. It just depends on the school and what year you ...

Would that mean the credit I would get from Kaplan would not transfer to another university because they are computer credits??? can anybody explain this to me....it's not making sense.
-
Yes, it is regionally accredited (hope spelled right) by the Higher Learning Commission. That means that your grades can be accepted to any school, even if it is not online. Now I am not including computer courses because those credits may not transfer. I completed an Associates Degree a good twenty years ago and Kaplan accepted ...
-
Hi, but what does that mean, really? Who is the "Higher Learning Commission"? Does that mean that any and all credits from Kaplan can be tranferred to ANY state school or regular college? We cannot get a straight answer from anyone on this.
Thanks.
