Recognized Online School with Graduation Perhaps?

Hi,

I'm glad to have found this website after weeks of fruitless surfing of the internet for information and I hope someone can provide me with useful information!

I'm looking to pursue a Bachelors degree in either Communication, Journalisim, or English with an emphasis on creative writing. Basically, I want to become a writer and I believe either of those degrees would prepare me for such a career. I need an online/distance school that is as affordable as possible, recognized, and accredited.

I would also like to add that when I complete this, I will be the first in my family with a University degree, the idea of taking part in a graduation ceremony is one that is very important to me and my parents would travel ANYWHERE to attend it. The University of Southern Queensland offers this but their tuition is too expensive for me. Ideally I'm looking for a maximum of 10-15K (USD) for the entire degree.

If anyone can suggest such a school I would greatly appreciate it, basically, affordable, accredited, recognized and preferably with a graduation ceremony at their actual campus. Also, if you think that I may have overlooked a degree that would prepare me for a career in writing, please suggest it!

I started my education working for an IT degree and like Steve decided it wasn’t for me. The degree it sounds like you are looking for is a web designer and there are several really good programs out there that will earn you a bachelors degree.

These programs cover all of the grit of web design from TCP/IP to hosting protocols to web and server languages. Being you are in e-commerce there are several deep layers from behind the scenes like the database (I use SQL) and the interface language (I use ASP) as well as the final form page (the easy part). There is really a lot of technology to web site design and with the push to convert programs over to web hosted applications this should be a field with a potential for growth . There is also the art side of design which is really all everyone sees.

Thanks guys for your help. I really appreciate it. Yeah it seems that AMU is much more appealing to me. Besides their Emergency and Disaster management, Im also considering their Master of Public Health. This program is much more in line with my medical degree back in the Philippines. I just hope that I could land a job in the states or canada with this program. Is there any AMU student you know taking up Master of Public Health too? Again thank you so much

Hi everyone. My name is Christian Dublin. I came from the Philippines and is now residing in Canada. I finished a doctor of medicine degree in the Philippines and trying to get my credentials accepted here in north America. For the meantime, I am very much interested to study online. This is my first. I am trying to choose between TUI university-master of science in health sciences(Emergency and Disaster management) and American Military University(Emergency and disaster management). In the states, what jobs can this program lead me in to? Is there anybody out there who's into this line of work? Are there any other online schools you can recommend me?
