Basically, I want to become a writer and I believe either of those degrees would prepare me for such a career. I need an online/distance school that is as affordable as possible, recognized, and accredited.

I would also like to add that when I complete this, I will be the first in my family with a University degree, the idea of taking part in a graduation ceremony is one that is very important to me and my parents would travel ANYWHERE to attend it. The University of Southern Queensland offers this but their tuition is too expensive for me. Ideally I'm looking for a maximum of 10-15K (USD) for the entire degree.

If anyone can suggest such a school I would greatly appreciate it, basically, affordable, accredited, recognized and preferably with a graduation ceremony at their actual campus. Also, if you think that I may have overlooked a degree that would prepare me for a career in writing, please suggest it!

Thank you,

Nadia

Re: Bachelor of Arts in English

Hey There Dustin!

I recently enrolled in a online degree program called CollegePlus! The college bookstore prices are a little high, and I pay out of pocket for books.

I looked online in the bookstore for my school but the item descriptions are vague (no ISBN numbers or pictures). It only had the title, edition number for each book and the copyright year. That is probably not the most information since I am trying to order off Ebay or Amazon to save $$$. I attend Chadron and I tried calling the bookstore and the clerk told me that she was too busy to help me. I'd prefer to search for my books by ISBN # to make sure I order the right thing. Where am I going wrong here?

Any ideas/tips on how I can ensure that I order the right books for the upcoming semester (without buying from the college bookstore)?

Thanks guys (and gals, too)!!!

Need Help!

First I would like to say hello to everyone. This is my first post although i have been on here for a few days now reading the forums.

I figure that if i give you a little background information about my self then it may help to answer my questions.

I am 25 years old and live in Nashville, TN. When i graduated high school i went to college and attended part time for three years. I picked up my english classes and history classes as well as a few other classes. Total of about 30 credit hours. My girlfriend then which is now my wife got pregnant with our son, so i dropped out of school to work so that i could support them. She had a full ride to college and is about to graduate in may (may 14) as a registered nurse and now i am wanting to go back to school. I will be quiting my current job and will try to get a job in any computer field to gain exp. while i am going to school since my income will not be the main source of income anymore. I am wanting to get my BS in Information Systems but i am not sure what online school is the best for the program. It is not so much as i am wanting the piece of paper as much as i am wanting to learn as much as possible, so i am looking for a school that is know for its programs and acadimics in the technology field.

Any help anyone can give me would be great.

Thank you,

Mickey

Please help me out - don't know what to do.

I'm a 21 year old male from upstate NY. I've finished high school and started college a couple years ago. My major was Computer Information Systems (Information Technology). Basically I have 64 credits finished, and I have about 10 credits left, 3 or 4 classes. I had some problems in my life which left my last semester with all Fs. So to sum it up, I was a good student until the last semester, and I screwed up the last 3 classes that I had (Biology, Mathematics, Business Presentations). I also had problems with these classes, especially with Business Presentation, because I suffer from panic attacks in nervous situations (giving a speech, etc.). I'm not very good at math, so that contributed somewhat as well, and Biology is something I never cared about. Either way, I have completed alot, over 60 credits, and I have very little left. The classes that I have left are my weaknesses. My questions are these..

1.) Is it possible for me to finish this degree online, even though my last semester's grades are bad?

2.) If yes, is it possible to be ALL online, meaning I don't have to go on a campus? I'm good at this, and every online class I've taken before was a straight A.

3.) How long would it take for me to get this degree? I mean I have alot of credits completed (almost all of them). How would they look at this?

It would really mean alot to me if someone could clear these things up. I do not want to go back to this college and finish these particular classes. I want to finish the degree online, and need to know specifically how. I recently requested a brochure from University of Phoenix as well.

Thank you very much for your help!

Jeremy

Aspen University

Hello,

I m looking forward to learning more about the reputation of Aspen University, i would pursue a project management online independent program soon.

I was wondering if anyone had any information about the accredition, because it s nationally accredited.

I need to take this particular course to improve my performance, add greater value to my organization, and ultimately advance my career.

Thank you

I changed my mind...I want to major in another field

Currently I'm taking classes at Axia, UOP and so far so good. UOP does not offer that so I realize I have to transfer somewhere else. Is that possible for me to have a associates in criminal justice and a bachelor's in social science. I feel dumb for asking this but I just want to make sure I can do that. To stay an eligible dependent on my health insurance plan, she must be enrolled as a fulltime student in a licensed or accredited college, university, vocational, or trade school. The insurance does not set a minimum number of hours to be classified as fulltime. They leave that to the school to determine what the school considers fulltime. The community college in our area considers 12 hours as fulltime.(even classes taken online). Does anyone have any experience with online programs and dependent eligibility for insurance purposes?
