Since 1972, the College for Financial Planning has been at the forefront of the financial planning field. The school designed its financial programs all based on the skills and knowledge necessary for competent practice. The programs are available 100 percent online for your convenience, and you have one year to complete each class. (Many students get through a class in six months, though.) As a rule, you should set aside about 10 hours per week for each class in which you're enrolled. Also, you'll need to test once every six months to remain an "active" student at CFP.

Some perks of enrolling include access to the Apollo Digital Library, which houses over 17 million articles and 2,500 academic journals, and special pricing on the Wall Street Journal and Barron's — both favorites of financiers.

Crown College is a Christian college based in Minnesota with a passion for adult learning.
