Louisiana State University

No DL degrees but dozens of courses at abot $ 33 per credit.

Penn Foster College - The whole associates degree is about $6,000.
http://www.pennfostercollege.edu/programs_degrees.html
It's
DETC accredited but I don't think it would be a problem with this
program. A plus is that many of their courses are ACE approved
and would be more widely accepted.
-
Expensive but one expects to pay for Tier 1.

I suspect that the motivation for Africans or Asians to obtain an
American degree is that they don't have to convince Americans that it's
real. West Africa is more than a bus ride from South
Africa. The US is the same distance away, depending on the
location in West Africa - 3,000-4,000 miles.
-
Allied Health? What type of courses did you take? You might
find a school that would accept up to half a program but if your
program is too specialized there might be a problem.
-
Definitely go for the masters. If you want an extra degree get
a second masters in computers or business. That would be much
more useful. As many American MBAs are introductory material, you
may find an MBA quite easy depending on the school.
-
Not the best but it is cheap. Penn Foster College is DETC
accredited, not regionally accredited, so you might want to check with
prospective employers to see if it is acceptable. I like the
looks of the program otherwise. I think the total cost of the program is about $4,000 unless it has gone up ...

If you're in a position to attend Boston U you will never regret it, ever.
-
A guess but maybe they meant that getting a masters from scratch was 70K, still a lot for an unrated school.
-
What type of masters are you looking for?
70K
sounds way too high even for Phoenix and they are expensive. If
we know the field we can give some suggestions. You should
be able to get a regionally accredited masters even under 10K with
dozens under 20K. Top tier schools would be a lot more ...
-
I
was appalled when I received this email. He said 20k for an aa when we
were originally talking about a masters so obviously he was
misconstruing this information. So frustrating.
I guess Eric must have taken the U of Phoenix logic course.

[quote Ted Lem]
Apparently, there is a German and and an English part of Switzerland.
German/French/Italian/Romansch
but no English. English is the most common second language and a
lot of English speaking people live there but they haven't taken over
- yet.
-
You may already know this. California Coast U is DETC
accredited. California Southern U is an applicant for DETC
accreditation but its PsyD is accepted for licensing as a psychologist
in California but with the melt-down of California private university
licensing, this is ending. My guess is that they are both
reasonable ...

There are some really cheap online or distance courses from some community colleges in the Southwest.
Clovis Community College

Almost free tuition for up to 9 credits & cheap after that.

From what I can gather courses at UNISA are 1600 rand = $171.52. Cheap but not a slam dunk.
Contrary
to many opinions, I'm not sure that UNISA has any particular academic
advantage and mediocre American schools may even have a reputation
advantage in parts of the world.

I think 4 years of Penn Foster College costs around
$10,000. $2,000 for each of the first 2 and $3,000 for each of
the next 2. I don't think they do online and I'm not sure whether
they take students outside the US.

Good points. I heard of endless students very
happy with Penn Foster. I've never heard from a Blackstone
student. Nothing to report good, bad, or indifferent is hardly a
rave.
-
I guess that explains why there are no Western
Governor's U students or graduates on these distance education
forums. The place appears to suck. Rules are fine but
schools that set up barriers for no reasonable purpose will have no
students. This might suit some college administrators just fine.
Students are such ...

Most schools require more social sciences/humanities/natural
sciences/mathematics in a BA than a BS. As a result, a program
heavy on business courses is of necessity a BS. If a program
meets BA requirements, it would be irrelevant whether it or the BS was
chosen.
-
Penn State World Campus - tier 1 but pricey. They apparently make
no distinction on your degree or transcript between the online and
regular program. I think you can take 3/4 of the program at
cheaper schools and transfer in.
Harvard Extension offers a Bachelor of Liberal Arts but it does
have some residency. Good if ...

Some states may accept an English LLB for entry to
practice or they have in the past. Most states require pre law
academic training so there may be a problem if the LLB is your first
degree. Some states, as mentioned, allow an LLM to legitlimaze an
otherwise unacceptable degree. Some states may more readily
accept a ...

It looks like all you need is a major with sufficient upper level
courses. Do the Big 3 recognize PE courses? It looks like
general education is covered. I don't think the old corses in
technical areas are a problem as options.

Jim;
A lot of untrue or partially true statements.
You
may not get into a regionally accredited school of your choice but you
will get into a regionally accredited school with a DETC degree.
The last study at least 10 years ago by Dr. Bear showed a positive
situation to some degree in somewhere around 40% of ...
