UOP starts every week with their classes. However, most schools are starting Aug 20th and you can get into classes that are 8 weeks long. UOP is very expensive but it would save you a few weeks and probably has the class you need to get into.

Andiosa: Hi! About the proctor exam, how it works is, near the completion of a semester, you have to pick a proctor, someone who is not related to you and has a college degree, to oversee you as you take your exam. You also have to pay a fee, and that fee will be given to the proctor. The exam is sent to this person and you ...

I may be wrong with this, but I don't think many colleges allow anyone under 21-24 in their online programs. Don't take my word for it though.
-
If I may add, it's a bit pricey. There are so many programs out there that are great, and less expensive. You should do a little research just to be sure that is where you want to go. (nothing bad being said about Kaplan)

You can't complete your LPN online. I called my local LPN/RN program to check on requirements I got bad news.
There are classes you can take online, however they aren't going to transfer into the LPN program. The classes I have found online do not have a lab which is the only way it can transfer in.
Some ...

I could be mistaken but I believe all the summer programs are over. I know UOP's classes start weekly so you may try them or a college like them. I don't think you will get 6 credits by the time you are needing them though.

Thanks for the info JN! That is a great price. I have decided to go to Peru State. They have exactly what I want.

(also posted at another DL foruml)
I am attending Peru State in the Fall for my PSYC. (have been out for many years) I have decided I want to eventually be a nurse. I can NOT attend college traditionally, it must be online right now. After all my kids are in school full time I will move on to the nursing ...

That is exactly why I am grateful for this site. I certainly wouldn't choose to pay over 30 grand for my AAS. I will pay around 20 grand for my BACHELORs at Peru State. To say UOP is pricy is an understatement. What I found here, however, was a great group of people whom were supportive.
Good luck!

Is there a program like Kaplan offers, but not so expensive? Theirs is over $30 grand for an Associates Degree. Much too expensive for my taste.
-
Kizmet I know how you feel. What happened to me being the kid?? Now I am the OLD one and my youngest 24 year old brother talks about it all the time. I keep telling him to hang on because in another year or two, adulthood is going to hit him hard.
He is now in Law School and is moving out of my house and into an apartment. ...

MichelleA: I really don't think that UoP is being "vehemently defended." It's more a discussion about everyone's experiences and everyone's opinions about that particular university. Personally, I don't have a problem with UoP. I have a close friend finishing up a degree there and she is happy and ...

To the flip side of your argument, I am a 32 year old stay at home Mom of four children. I am going back to get my degree. Once finished, my children will all be in school full time. Factor out the fact that my children may get sick and I would have to leave work for them. Then factor in the idea that I am done ...

The question wasn't "should" it be viewed as a joke. Thats not the point, of COURSE it IS viewed as a joke. I'm sorry, but there are so many other schools that are online to attend that people won't roll their eyes at when you mention it. I personally would rather go to a school that ...

No experience in the field, but I find it hard to believe they have online degrees for this. Seriously, how do you "do" someone's hair online and be graded on it?
I am sure someone else will have a better answer!
-
I think what you are seeing here is a group of unbiased opinions vs. the horrid insults on other sites. While we are all entitled to our own opinion, I don't think UOP is viewed as a joke. I chose not to attend there for a few reasons. First and foremost was cost. Had I not found this site, I would be starting my corses ...

I am glad to have helped. Let me know if enroll!

Hi Michelle!
Check out
http://www.peru.edu/online/index.htm#.htm
That is where I have decided to attend. I have done all the research possible and it lead me to Peru. Great prices and very helpful staff. I really like their program because of it's 8 week courses. I will be able to get my Bachelors Degree much faster ...

I am going with Peru State.
http://www.peru.edu/online/index.htm#.htm
They have the best program to fit me. Most of their courses are 8 week sessions costing only $157 per credit hour. Ft. Hays is less expensive, however they only offer 16 week courses. If you don't mind that, they are $130 a credit hour.
If you have any ...

I find your information very useful. I wish more of the advanced online students would give answers such as yous. It's something that those of us newbies need to know. Saying a college is good or bad in a sentence doesn't give the insight that we need to make an informed decision.
I am not saying that other online ...

Thank you for your detailed response, it was very interesting. Can I ask what your grades were like and how difficult were your tests to pass?
I also interested in knowing how to foresee financial aid problems, anything you would recomend?
-
Is their PT Certification worth anything?
-
UI is an amazing college. That's all I can say!
-
I suggest financial aid and for you to check out a few other schools.
http://www.peru.edu/homepage/
They are a bit more expensive, but they are Regionally Accredited and have a great program. I have found only 3 schools with low tuition. Cal Coast, Ft. Hays and Peru. (when earning a degree)
Good luck!

I am still on the fence between Ft. Hays and Peru State. From everything I have read, they are very strict on assignment. They are due when they are due....They do give you ample time to finish assignments, from what I have read so far. There is nothing that is given one day and due the next. I have a husband and 4 ...
