For medical billing, some companies will hire you and then provide their in house training. Some will required you to have either medical billing background or a certificate from that discipline. And you can easily search online and find plenty of programs that offer certification program in medical billing/coding.

Hmm..on the note regarding these schools. You have to be careful because most of these online schools are indeed profit-driven organization, in short terms, they are out to get money first, then provide education second. But that doesn't mean they are not good schools, you pay what you get.

Distant Learning is perfect for someone who works a regular shift job who only have time during the night to study. Especailly now, people can not afford to quit their job and go full time as a student because of financial situation. That's when distant learning can solve the problem for them.

I think it all depends what you are studying. I'm totally for online classroom if you have already gotten your degree and you are taking some extra classes to kind of enrich your knowledge in a certain subject. Well, if you are having trouble getting a respond from employers, there can be multiple reasons. One maybe the school, others maybe your resume is not as attractive as others. You may try doing some freelance paralegal projects to boost up your resume. You can search on the net and find those opportunities.

Online degrees are terrific!!! The only thing people have to be careful about is the accreditation. Online schools are also great for people who work long hours and unable to attend classes in person.

I would suggest to hire a professional resume writer to help you tailor you resume to your needs. I dont' think anyone really 'sells' resume out there.

I think both are essential elements, but i would think a degree is more important when you are trying to get your foot in someone's door and when you are job hopping after you've gained job experiences, then job skills probably take over a little bit and the degree doesn't look as important.

Just advice for you. There are so many sites out there offering 'financial freedom', 'work from home', etc. Just beware of scams, there are some sites that offer online opportunities that are actually back by BBB( Better Business Bureau), those are safe bets as far as entering your personal info and stuff and signing up for jobs.

With our current job market situation, yes everyone should have some sort of backup plan. As far as looking for a job, it's all about how you sell yourself out there. Knowing the right people will be the way to get you in 'some' door. It might not be your dream job, but hey, you have a job...
