Yes, I am curious what you think so far. I am still not to satisfied with my instructor and am curious what someone else is experiencing.
Check out these wonderful post on our discussion board nice and interactive huh? (this is why I am so frustrated, you call this a 'lecture') :

Mark-
I don't think either format can be called universally 'better'. I'm not sure what you mean by "upcoming teacher" but if you have only recently started classes one thing you will learn is about all of the different learning styles both in adult learning theory, and child learning theory. For some people ...

Matt-
I am currently a student at APU but only in my first course. I do not have experience with any other school other than the B&M I went to for my bachelors. My impressions of elearning so far are that it is more difficult than at a B&M but that is no reflection of APU. If your concern is that you have not heard of it I ...

Thanks John, Baker is one of the schools that I am interested in so it is nice to hear that you have had a pretty good experience so far. They seem to have a good reputation overall and I think they are pretty well known by potential employers as well.
-
Anybody else? Hard to believe only two schools are represented.

Hey- just caught this thread and wanted to throw in my .02. I am in my first class at APU right now in the MBA program. It is definitely a lot to do if you have not been a student for 13 years like me :)
That being said although it may be possible to take 2 classes at one time I would strongly recommend not giving that a shot until you have ...

Thanks Cajun
Guess I should have started off with mine...
I only have experience with one school APU (American Public University). They have a proprietary system similar to blackboard with assignments, discussion boards, gradebook, internal email system. The online library is pretty nice as far as I can tell. There are links to a few of ...

Just looking for opinions. Please share your experience so everyone can see what might meet their needs the best.
Try to include:
School name, What was used, Why you like it, What you didn't like, Are their lectures, if so how? Streaming, Powerpoint, Youtube videos, how about class exercises in flash or some type of CBT etc.
I am ...

Bingo, that's exactly what mine is like. Hopefully some others chime in and let us know if this is common to the online format or not.
-
Steve- I got a laugh out of that, good point. I think part of it for me is the transition to online classes vs traditional. I think I am mostly missing the "lecture" component right now. For whatever reason I assumed (hoped) that there would still be some type of virtual lecture even if it was being given a power point lecture that I had ...

I recently started my MBA online and am not impressed with the delivery format at my school so far. I am not passing judgement entirely as it might be just the class, or just the professor. I am however looking for recomendations from students at other programs who have a more interactive format for their class. By interactive I mean streaming, or ...

Thanks all. So far so good. The online library is amazing. The coursework is scary right now. I have 240 pages to read and two assignments in the first week! What have I done to myself.

Well, I finally did it. After thinking about it for several years and doing some in depth research once or twice I finally enrolled and start classes on Sept 7. This forum has been a big help. I have read a lot and posted a little, hopefully that will change now that I am going to have some first hand experience.
I decided to go with APU ...

I had a long road to a decision for my MBA and had narrowed down to a few top schools, then out of the blue I ran into APU... I start in August and will let everyone know how it is.
For me, the cost was a big factor. I was looking at Bellevue and Ashford but for half the cost and the same accredidation it is worth a shot. I wondered about the ...
-
Thanks Cajun. I'm thinking Ashford might be the one. I am talking to an enrollment counselor later today and need to figure out financial aid and my employee reimbursement program but I think this will be a go in the next few weeks.

Thanks Steve-
Thanks for your comment, I agree on the importance of research thats why this site has been a goldmine so far. Its one thing to talk to people like my co-workers for example but everyone has their own personal biases. Most of them went to get their MBA right after their BA so that is a whole different world than a 30 something with ...
-
Thank you, I have looked at that one but does not meet my limited pre-req needs. I would be doing catch up work for about a year and a half before I even started the MBA core.

Karina: I've been doing so much research !!! I feel brain dead..Anyways all I see in the website of licensure for Cali is that they require a doctorate degree before you apply for the license plus internship of certain amount of hours in order to become a school psychologist.
I would say make sure to identify exactly what it is that you ...

I have not only heard of them, but went to one of their brick and morter campuses in So Cal. I can't speak for their online classes, but the traditional ones were high quality and honestly for my major pretty 'fun' but I like learning.
I do like that they offer very accelerated programs, one class a month two night a week. Basically ...

I have been lingering around the forums for a month or so and have gotten a lot of great tips and advice from various people. I have also searched and not found any specific discussions about this, so it's time to post.
I am looking at online MBA programs and have narrowed the field down to just a few and was hoping for some comparisons if ...
