Hi Momof3,
I would suggest to look at the Society of Industrial & Organizational Psychologist websites and inquire about programs listed on their site, the only 2 online universities listed on there is Fielding (of course) and Capella University. Fielding is very expensive (geesh!). I would recommend you to look at ...

Why not go for a cool BA?...if you acquire an Associates, I don't think you will be able to have your own classroom. If you get a Bachelors degree you are able to have your own classroom and have a good teacher's salary. I think you should go all the way (BA) and see what your state recommends for an online ...

I'm not trying to toot toot the horn of my school...but Capella University has a Organizational Psychology program that is acutally recognized by the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychologists (siop.org). Fielding is pretty expensive I saw too. If I am not mistaken it is a little more steep than Capella. I'm ...

Hey John, I know that is easy to throw in the towel now, but you don't have much further to go! That's awesome!!
I can only imagine with 3 kids, I only have one daughter and she's enough. Keep your mind on the prize and the fact that it's gonna get "greater later"...You will definitely be an inspiration to ...

I know right?!
I am excited, but nervous at the same time. I am still trying to narrow down my doctoral concentration...

Guys I am so excited, I will be joining Elearner as their new Capella blogger. That is soooo exciting! I am so elated. But anyway, I just wanted to give you guys the good news...great updates and as silly as I am, I will crack some jokes in there too...lol.

My second week is okay, I'm just trying to stay ahead of everything. I am battling 3 classes this quarter, which is the max you can take in a single period. I am a little excited about finishing in December. How is everyone else?
You can read a lot of my experiences once again on ...

Hi Steve,
I'm going to look into Liberty U and look at their programs. Capella is a wonderful school, I really enjoyed the experience, but I'm not going to lie, they are not easy on the pocketbook....lol. What I do like about it is that there is a 2-3 wk gap between quarters for you to regroup and revitalize ...

Hey you guys,
Yes, that is important. I have been aching my mind trying to figure out which program would be best in my professional development as well as interest. I'm narrowing it down to Higher Education Administration or School Psychology, but I am just not sure. I have a while before I enroll (next Spring or ...

My plan into action,
Options:
* Work as a therapist, intake coordinator, supervisor (which I am currently) for a nonprofit agency
*Be an online adjunct instructor for an associate's degree program for human services, psychology, human development, sociology, etc.
*Work as an Academic Advisor, Career Counselor, Job Coach, etc. ...

Well my subject line said it all....
I'm 2 quarters away from completing my Masters in Counseling, is an online adjunct instructor position possible at this point? I'm looking to teach at a associate's level online program in either in psychology, sociology, human services, etc. I do have some teaching ...

Wow! Congrats on your program! Hopefully next summer, I will join you in entering the doctorate program! That is an interesting fact that only 2% of Americans have doctorates. I want to be in that number for sure. I will be reading and hoping to grab some tips from you also. Best wishes!

I'm actually still attending there now and working on my last 2 quarters there and in the spring of next year, I plan on going back to start the ph.D program @ Capella....So far, I have loved it. By no means is it a fly by night, do anything to get an A school...you work hard and you earn your grade. In fact, I have earned 2 ...

At this present moment, I am finishing up my last 5 classes at Capella University(I'm taking 3 classes for summer quarter and 2 for my last quarter, am I insane, probably...lol). My masters will be in Counseling Studies and right now I am working for a nonprofit organization. In the summer quarter of next year, '10, I ...

I think that is the downside of online learning, you need answers and sometimes you need them right away. Problem is, they can take quite a while to respond. I agree with the others, go through the protocol and offer a complaint and concern. U are investing tens of thousands of dollars to get a quality education. I am all about ...

OH no!!!
I really hate that admissions rep at some schools don't understand that they are the face and voice of the university. First impression can be a lasting impression. My admissions rep was awesome and he didn't hound me at all. I made a sound decision, because I had done so much research on my own ...

Both of those schools have pretty good reputations, but I did not know they were so darn pricey! LOL. I do agree that you are concerned with the validity of it. I would say research on the good and the bad of both. Employers are not very concerned on where you got your degree from, as long as you have acquired the skills and ...

Hi Elizabeth,
I don't feel a stigma at all. I have a lot of friends who are pursuing an online education and some who have benefitted from raises, new opportunities, and promotions from doing so.
This is the 21st century and there are so much competition and also people desiring flexibility because of the schedules. I think ...

Oh I am soooo happy about this forum!!! I am nearing the end of my academic journey for my Masters with a concentration in Counseling Studies. I see that you have already started, how have you enjoyed the institution so far? I have a friend who is going for her BS in HR.
Capella is a great university and make sure ...

Very good question.
Yes, I believe if universities continue to strive for excellence and continue to make the programs challenging and interesting, we can see online universities dominating education for adults all over. Many corporations are really recognizing that online schools prepare professionals just as good as traditional ...

Hey Richard,
Have you looked at WGU...Western Governor's University. They have a good education program and alot of states endorse them and they are extra affordable. You might wanna look into it?
www.wgu.edu
Hope that helps you a bit...

Oh another thing Cajun...
I see your blogs and good job on them! I was wondering...I saw that the blogger for Capella Univ. is switching to another university, is there anyway that I could start a blog on my experience at Capella? Right here on elearners.com?
Thanks again,
Jayna

Hey thanks for the welcome,....what prompted you to join elearners.com?

Hey Hope I read your post and you are feeling discouraged, uneasy, and ready to just give up. I was in the same boat with you about 6 months ago. I was in school, getting my Masters online and I was soooo burned out! The key is to immerse yourself and look at your degree as a "mastery or expertise". Get in some ...

I was actually going to suggest WGU, because their teaching program is endorsed by a couple of states, including TX and TN. The tuition is affordable and that it's online. I think you ought to check with your state and see what they recommend for programs online. Most boards of education want you to just have a ...
