    Accounting - Penn Foster

Hi all I am new here and thinking of taking the accounting course at Penn Foster. I am trying to do all the research I can to make sure I make the right choice enrolling at Penn Foster. I would like to hear from anyone that is taking the accounting course now and those who have finished I would like to hear how the course was for you. I have checked a few other online schools and some of them are SO expensive they are way out of my range as I will have a daughter starting college in the next 2 years and do not want to have a huge tution loan for me. When I contacted them they said there was some tests I needed to take, what are the tests? Anyways any informtion you all would like to share would be wonderful.

    Thanks

    Re: Accounting - Penn Foster

Hi, I'm an accounting student at Penn Foster like you. As far the research I made, Penn Foster was the best choice. However, in the beginning of my degree I asked the college if they can give me the names of other students from the same degree so I can speak with them, the answer no made me a bit frustrated. Today I believe that the reason is to secure that no information from answers of the exams is dispersed among students. The course to me is, although challenging, pretty enjoyable. I'm able to speak to an instructor whenever I want, this is a good advanage of this dollege. I believe that you take this advantage too.
    good luck.

    Hi Tippy,

I am currently enrolled at Penn Foster College, and recently finished my first semester.  I highly recommend PFC.  The courses are challenging and you will definitely get an education if you apply yourself.

When you first enroll at PFC, they have you take two non-credit assessment tests in Reading Comprehension and Math.  I was a total math moron in high school and I scored an 80 on the exam, so the tests are really nothing to be concerned about.  They are just trying to determine whether you are capable of doing community college-level work.

If cost is a concern, the price is right at PFC.  For my first semester I made monthly payments of $39.  It's pretty hard to beat that deal for a quality education!
