    Any Good Online M.A.T. Programs?

I'm looking for schools that offer a Master of Arts in Teaching degree online. These programs help non-traditional teachers get teaching certification while getting a degree in education. It would be benefitial if the degree was broad in nature or geared towards teaching vocational/career education. I would prefer a B and M school but I would also consider online schools that are known for their educational programs. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Professa - (kinda jumped the gun with the screen name dint ya?)

Mostly these degrees are MEd degrees.  Virtually every state university system has an online MEd program.  Where do you live?  Check out the opportunities close to home.  For example, UMass has six MEd options

ProfessaX is just a nickname that I stole from an old rapper. Dont think he had a PhD either :) I'm only looking at M.A.T. programs because MEd programs usually require you to have an undergraduate degree in education, which I dont. I've looked around for decent online M.A.T. programs but I haven't found much to choose from. I was hoping someone knew someone who went to...

Usually, the distinction between the MAT and the MEd is that the MAT offers teacher certification at the graduate level. Is that the sort of program you're looking for?

You didn't steal it -- you're sampling. Wink

Anyway, MAT programs are designed for those interested in K-12 teaching.  There are other Master's level education degrees out there that don't require a Bachelor's in education.  My Master's program is an MA in educational technology, and my Bachelor's is in information systems, not education.

I need teaching certification and I figured that I should get another degree out of it if I'm doing half of the work. Any suggestions?
