    ICS Canada / Penn Foster

    http://www.icslearn.ca

Has anyone enrolled in any programs or heard anything about this online career school?? Do their diplomas actually mean anything in the “real world”/work force??

    Any info would be great.

I think they are affiliated with Penn Foster (i.e.: see ‘Our History’ section on the site)

    Thanks

Re: ICS Canada / Penn Foster

    According to http://www.icslearn.ca/newsletter/archive/july06/index.html:

"ICS Canada has been delivering independent study programs through distance education in Canada since 1920. International Correspondence Schools (ICS) was the academic root from which ICS Canada and U.S. Penn Foster College, Career, and High School eventually grew."

ICS Canada is accredited by the Canadian Education and Training Accreditation Commission (CETAC). ICS Canada is also a member of the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC).

Hi. Yes, it seems ICS is related to Penn, which used to be Thomson Education (Eduction Direct) See http://i-newswire.com/pr52410.html. They could be legit!

I, too, would like to know if anyone is studying or has studied with them and how well recognized their qualifications are. Is the Diploma/certificate deemed valid in the real world?

Are you satisfied with the education you received/are receiving from ICS? Hope someone replies soon. I'm considering their Interior Decorating Diploma/certificate...

Re: ICS Canada / Penn Foster

I'm a Penn Foster College student, and while I have not yet graduated, I was able to change careers and get a new job based, in part, upon the fact that I was actually going to school to learn the field in which I wanted to work.
