    Extra funding for Doctorate

    Hi

I have quite an extensive educational background (BS-Psychology, MBA, MS-Psychology (partial), and just started PhD-Educational Psychology).  I am quickly approaching my aggregate limit and wondering what others have done in similar situations.  I am afraid that I will run out of money just before hitting the dissertation stage!!!

     Advice Anyone???

There are a couple of things you could do.

1.) Look for employer reimbursement.  Some companies, like UPS provide reimbursement for any employee working over 15 hours a week depending on your hub.

2.) You could find a research partner, a company or organization who would like to sponsor your research like MADD funding a study for drunk driving incidents in the Southwest (you get the idea).

    3.) Private loans.

    4.) Family members Ick!

    Just brain storming here.

If you haven't spoken with your school's financial aid department about this issue, I'd start there.

Also, some people in doctoral programs look to teach undergraduate courses as an adjunct as a way to make some money to cover their tuition.  There are only so many hours in a day, though so it's a solution that doesn't work for everyone.

When it comes to grants, as an online doctoral student myself I can tell you that there aren't that many scholarships out there for people like us, but there are more than zero either.  Why not check out our scholarship search just in case there's something for which you're qualified?

    Good luck,
