Amy2009: 1.I have only looked into the UOP and Bellevue University. I am familiar with UOP from previously attending there and was going to re enroll to complete my Bachelor degree. Then I received a email at work from Human Resource, urging all employee to sign up for Bellevue accelarated program. From there a did a little research and felt the Bellevue was better on paper. Then I called Bellevue spoke with admissions dept. which was very helpful and informative. I was advance to send in my unofficial transcripts first and she can drawup a schedule just for me. Then from there if I like the program courses can apply then send in offical transcripts. Where as UOP was extremely clear that I cannot speak with acadmeci counseler concerning specific scheduling for myself, until I submit application first. Right there I kinda of made my decision... I just wanted to get a different outlook. Like they say two eyes are better than one!
2. What do I attend to do with my degree...well I want to be a data consultant. I currently work as a helpdesk technican helping government agencies with their blackberry. As a data consultant(with same company) I would be a liaison between the agencies and company. At this time, I do not forsee MBA. 5 years from now I would like to be in a management or consultant field.
3. Price and accelerated are equally important.Just to give some feed back about myself.. I am 28, married with two kids, I have 61 credit hours and been going to school off/on since 2005. Omg!! I should have my degree by now..
In that case of the two I'd take Bellevue 10 out of 10 times, but that's just because it has the highest return on investment, combined with a seemingly less controversial background. I also suspect Bellevue has a better support system, but that's pure speculation on my part and not supported by any evidence or facts, just a hunch. The two also have very different learning methods, Bellevue is more independent leaning though they can and do use cohorts whereas UofP is pretty much 100% cohort based. Both have their strengths and weaknesses.
I'd look into more schools before pulling the trigger though, check out http://www.elearners.com/search/online-degrees/business-administration.htm
And pay special attention to Peru State College, Fort Hays State University and American Public University for a high return on investment with lower risk, meaning less expensive. Also check into Southwestern College in Winfield, KS, not because they are the cheapest but because they are very accelerated with 6 week classes at a time, which is great for staying motivated and of course they have an awesome support system in place for their students. I'm a alumni of theirs...
