Anyone used Penn Foster College Online Programs

I'm looking for anyone who has used Penn Fosters (Computer Information Systems) AAS program?  What did you think of the courses?  How are were the classes?  Did you find a job or did it help in your present position?  Please help I'm deciding whether to go to this college or not.  Any advice is great.  Thanks.Wink

I'm not in the CIS program, but I am a Penn Foster College student (AS in Marketing).  I write the blog here at eLearners called My Penn Foster College Experience, and my wife is a student of Penn Foster Career School.  We both enjoy studying with Penn Foster very much. My wife and I have learned a great deal since we began our studies.  I have noticed that my studies have helped me with my job performance, and I changed careers a couple of years ago.  I believe I was hired in part because I was studying in a degree program.  After I get my AS from Penn Foster, I plan to get a BA in Communications.

There are many Penn Foster students who read this message board.  I'm sure one of them can tell you something about the specific program you are interested in.  PFC courses are more correspondence courses than they are online.  I study from books and study guides, but take most of my exams online.  That's really the only "online" component to my program.

Let me know if you have any questions, but I highly recommend Penn Foster College.

Altho I haven't decided on which online school I would like to do, I keep reading and reading and comparing, I find myself going back to Penn Foster.  I am 41 yrs old and looking into the Paralegal program as a career. I find myself wondering once I finish this program then what? Alot of companies I see are requiring work experience. I'm considering working at home doing documents for people who can't afford the high costs of attorneys. If anyone has gone through the Paralegal program and working please let me know or if you have any ideas.

Well, even i wonder the same as which to choose as there is a wide variety available but it is always great to do an online course and get a degree as you can save time.

Well after spending literally HOURS and a few Days researching the many schools I keep coming back to Penn Foster. At first I was considering paralegal course but after doing more research on options and finding jobs that are available, I've decided to go with the Medical coding and billing option. Seems to have more opportunites for entry level jobs. Someone that has the degree but so much the actual work experience.

I, too, was nervous about using Penn Foster. I researched many college choices. I was so nervous about making a wrong choice. Then my sister told me that she has been attending Penn Foster for two years working toward Medical Secretary. She is a very private person, so never mentioned it earlier! The next time I went to visit her, she showed me all of her books. I was VERY impressed with their quality. She said that she had no problems with them at all, and that they gave her an extension when she needed it. This helped me a lot with my decision. I am now in their Paralegal Studies Program. I am still in the study guide portion, so they have not sent me any of the nice hard-cover books like she got yet, but she said that it was a while before she got those too.
