    Transferring courses?

    Hi Everyone!

I have a few questions about WGU. I was thinking of starting the teacher education program at the bachelors level. Heres my questions:

    1) Do they accept CLEP credits? I know its competency based, but do they wavier certain assessments if you have enough courses in a certain area? I have 30 clep credits and nearly 50 credits from a 4 year college.

    2) Do they limit how many assessments/ competency units you can take in a certain term? If I have 40 hours a week to study and do assessments, how many could I fit in during a single term?

    3) Has anyone experienced the bachelors level program versus the graduate level teacher prep program? Would anyone suggest one over another taking into account the point I would be at in my education?

    Thanks :)

I think your best bet to get answers to these specific questions is to ask someone at WGU.  Depending on what time of day you visit their web site, they have an adviser who can chat with you live right through their site.

    Re: Transferring courses?

I agree with Terry, because of the changing nature of school policies and the fact that they very, very seldom ever inform me beforehand, it would be best to get that information right from the horse's mouth so to speak.  As far as WGU goes as a school however, I think you've made a pretty good choice.  As for having 40 hours a week of study time available, for a traditional college class I would think that should be enough time to take 2 classes at a time at the undergrad level.  I somehow recall the recommendation being to plan to spend 15 to 20 hours a week on a 3 hour course.

I agree; you're asking great questions, but they're best asked to the school itself.
