I'm currently a business major at Western Governors which has new graduate degree programs in healthcare and health education, and plans to add a MSN for nursing shortly: http://www.wgu.edu/
The programs at WGU are competency-based, so you are not locked into enrolling in courses you do not need. This is ideal for returning students and those of us making a mid-career 'correction' ;-) Realistically, most students can easily complete the equivalent of a year or more of college work in a 26-week term, so you can expect to complete your degree in two or two and half years, no sweat! 'Course, that's assuming you have 15-20 hours to devote to your studies, and most importantly the determination and self-discipline to stick with it! You're actual mileage will vary, of course; we've had several students streal though the program like greased lightening - one recently graduated who completed the BS in Business Admistration in a year with time to spare, but she was working at it full time and then some! (I think she said she was putting in between 45-48 hours a week - which is impractical for most of us, but on the other hand gives pause to wonder just how much partying is actually going on in those traditional brick-and-mortar schools that it takes them four years ;-) )
Most students at WGU are completing as much as the program as possible in self-directed study with a minimum of online courses (usually 8- to 12-weeks so you can easily fit several of them within a 26-week term).
There is no specific GPA requirement or minimal scores on SAT or ACT for undergraduate admissions. At US$2835 per 6-month term, it's a terrific bargain!
[Regardless of distance learning or traditional brick-and-mortar, all college students save drastic amounts textbooks by reselling them to other students.]
