    Accreditation

I am considering pursuing my Ed. D. from Northcentral University and was wondering if anyone could give any informantion on their accreditation and if they have a reputable program?  I am considering Leadership and Curriculum Instruction.  Do they a residence requirement? and do they provide student support?

    Re: Accreditation

In doing a simple google search, I found that there are several colleges named Northcentral University.  Which one are you thinking about?  Where is it located?

    Re: Accreditation

If it's NCU.edu they have quite a few people in their doctorate programs and overall they seem to have a pretty fantastic thing going.  From a price point they are tough to beat.

Yes, they have regional accreditation, which is usually considered the most reputable.

They do not have a residence requirement, and they do provide student support, although whether they provide the exact support you want is a question better for them than anyone else.

What's your goal for this doctorate?  What do you want to do with it once you have it?

    Re: Accreditation

    Thank you for responding Steve,

Presently, I am an Educational Specialist working with elementary students with specific learning disabilities and developing learning goals for their IEPs (Individual Education Plan).  I wish to pursue a position in special education administration at the elementary level, then moving on to become a Program Specialist, Elementary (consulting and advising school personnel in the area of special education policies, procedures, personnel, materials, resources, assessment, curriculum, and instructional strategies).   I will then use the above experience in obtaining a university teaching position..

An  Ed. D. in Curriculum Instructional Leadership I believe will help me in pursuing my career goals.
