    Feedback - Support - Direction

Welcome everyone, thank you for stopping bye.

My name is Eddie and  I am new to this site.

I am 45, father of a teenager, currently a Paralegal, not satisfied.

My passions are in Science/NASA, Entertainment, writer or developing my own business.

    Looking for new direction/career?

    Maybe I am having a mid-life crisis?

Can anyone relate to my situation?

I look forward to encouraging feedback.

    Eddie

Hi Eddie, welcome to elearners, there is a ton of stuff here so if you have any questions on education, etc. just ask.  As for a new direction, maybe you just need some time off to gain some perspective on things.

    Hi Eddie,

I assure you, that you are not the only one in this situation!!Big Smile

I've been checking out colleges for my husband, because his work told him he has to go, but it certainly has got me thinking, what do I really want to do when I grow up.  I been a stay at home mom for almost 11 years and now that the kids are in school, what now? I have a B.S. in Business Admin with a concentration in management, but going back into something like that really doesn't interest me and I've been out of the job market so long, I'm not sure if I could even get back into it if I wanted too.

Does anyone know of an online assessment so to speak, that helps you figure out what kind of career would be a match for your talents, interests, personality?  Kind of like the book, "What Color is Your Parachute"? I bet this would be of great interest to prospective learners of all kinds!!

    Thanks again all!!

    Deb

    Hi Eddie, and welcome!

If you really want to start your own business, then I'd consider trying to find a program in entrepreneurship.  I'm not sure what you could find that meets all your interests, though!  Maybe you could find someone who's doing something you'd really like to do, then contact them and ask them how to get there.

I don't know that I would call it a midlife crisis (my wife does) but after more than 20 years in radio/tv, I decided I didn't want to cover murder trials and politics anymore.  I now work in marketing and PR for a publishing company.  It's been great, and my previous profession has actually given me some great skills for my new job.

You could find something somewhat related to what you used to do, but something that you would enjoy doing.  Go for it!  You only live once.
