I would like to suggest three schools that are good for accounting: Thomas Edison State College (TESC.EDU) Charter Oak State College (COSC.EDU) and University of Phoenix (Phoenix.Edu) all three are accredidated and have good reputations.

    Re: wgu

If you would like to request information from any of those schools, you can fill out forms here at eLearners:

    Thomas Edison: https://forms.elearners.com/tesc.htm

    U Phoenix: https://forms.elearners.com/uop.htm

Charter Oak isn't on eLearners, but you can get info from here:  http://www.charteroak.edu/ContactUs/index.cfm

And here is the request info form for Western Governors:  https://forms.elearners.com/wgu.htm

You should call them all and grill them about their programs.  Be sure to make a list of the factors which are most important to you and ask them those questions.  Someone may like a program because it's suited to their needs but you may HATE it.

eLearners is currently developing a list of questions to ask...stay tuned!!!

You're wise to be skeptical of schools having trouble with their accreditors.  You may also want to consider Nebraska's Peru State College, which has an extremely low tuition rate for online programs -- $130 per credit hour! -- yet is a state school so you won't have to worry about it being accepted in the job market.  And they have a B.S. in Accounting.

I'm currently getting ready to start at Indiana Business College for my Accounting Degree.  They have a really great program.  It's definitely worth checking out.

    Steve,

Does Peru State offer MSIT? I could not find any reference about that and the $130 per unit rate. It is unbelievable low, and I think it can only be for in-state student. Let me know if the master degree rate for out of state student and their admission requirements (GRE/GMAT etc.)

    Thanks in advance!

I believe the online tuition rate at Peru State College is the same whether you are an in-state or out-of-state student.

No, the closest they get is a Master's in Instructional Technology.

To clarify, their graduate rate is $196.25 for all students (in state or out) in online graduate programs.  Not quite $130, but still a good deal:

Not sure about GRE or GMAT.  Either way that's a good one to ask them directly since those things can change.
