Hello Everyone! I'm Jessica, and new to this forum and online education. I just turned 28 years old, and have been taking classes through Axia College/University of Phoenix, for about 7 months now. It's taken some getting used to, but I love it ! I am going for my associates of arts in Psychology through Axia College, and from there I am going on to University of Phoenix for my Bachelors degree, probably in communications. I graduated highschool in May of 1998, and ran into some problems that kept me from persuing my college education. I did manage to take a distance learning course in Medical Transcription (not online), but unfortunately in the end that didn't get me very far. It goes without saying, as one gets older and more settled, "going to college" isn't as fesable as it is when you're younger, and It's been a goal of mine to somehow obtain my degree. Most gratefully and thankfully to online college I am doing it, and doing pretty well
I love it, too. Although, sometimes it's difficult when there really isn't much discussion other than the mandatory discussion, and more times than not, one is hardpressed to find much social comradery through online college. Admittedly so, some classes are more socially active than others. The ones that aren't (which is more than the ones that are) can prove mundane and somewhat frustrating - I mean, we're all there for a reason, but we mine as well have fun too (there is a chatboard in all of my classes, and little chatting goes on other than students posting for attendance purposes)
Anyway, so in attempts to reach out to the world students attending online college/distance learning, here I am
