    Financial Accounting at PFC?

Are there any other Penn Foster College students here that have gone through the Financial Accounting course?  I think this is the most difficult course I have taken so far at PFC, and I'm really struggling.  I'd like to hear your thoughts about the class, as well as any tips you might have for getting through it without losing your sanity.

    Thanks!

    Re: Financial Accounting at PFC?

There are many accounting students at PFC as I saw on the Dean's List, although not all of them might have the time or the knowledge to look at elearners.com. My suggestion is, you should call in the college for instructional help. If you still don't get satisfied answers for all your questions, I would suggest looking on some free online resources for accounting information. one of them which you already know is quickmba.com.

You may also try this one, http://www.reallifeaccounting.com/

    or you may try,

    and so on.

The main thing to remember is that the accounting module is a whole picture and you get it piece by piece. At the end when you'll have all the pieces the picture will be very easy to thoroughly understand, just be patient.

Good luck with the rest of your studies.

    Hey, thanks for the links!

Just to clarify, I'm not an accounting student.  I'm in the Marketing program.  Financial Accounting is the name of one of the courses I am taking.  I believe business management students also have to take this course.

    Hi tcord!

I'm well aware that you're studying management now. However, recall that in one of your previous posts you'd outlined your courses for your second semester and among others were 1) Financial Accounting 2) Managerial Accounting, both are courses accounting students are required to take. I'd been assigned the first one in my first semester and the second one in the second.

Now, let me give you another interested link witch could help you, I simply forgot it last time.

although you'll see the title BOOKKEEPING there, most of the topics in your Financial Accounting course are discussed there.

    good luck.

    Thanks for the link!

I did pass the first online exam, and I'll probably be taking the next one later next week.  I'm almost halfway through the course, so I've got that going for me!

    Re: Financial Accounting at PFC?

Congratulations! tcord. You see, that's all! you just have to climb the hill, look back what you accomplished, and take the power to go further. Now that you've already the basis underlying principles, it's gonna be much easier all other parts. The most difficult for me was to grasp the t-account concept. When I spoke to the instructor and got told to just "believe" and go ahead I understood that I'm learning now new ideas and have to be patient with them. Good luck.
