I can understand being fleetingly frustrated, but I wouldn't be too worried about it, at least as you've described it. If it happens repeatedly, that's one thing. If we're talking about isolated incidents, then it won't affect either your grade or the amount you get out of the course, so what's to be gained from taking it personally?

Thanks for responding to my post . I would have responded earlier , but I had gotten locked out of the forums for some reason. Yes I did call my academic conselor and she said the teachers can see what time the posts are made, so I am feeling good becasue I posted first lol....

Yes it is easy to get related answers when we are all reading the texts. I guess I was just frustrated becasue I made a good point and didnt get acknowledged ...

I've had some similar experiences like what you describe. Whenever I felt a post was too close to mine I just left it up to the instructor to figure out if I was ripped off or not. I never actually contacted the instructor with something like that but instead I would participate in the other posters thread and point it back to my own reply, it's a subtle but effective way of saying "hey, I already posted this". I encourage you to contact the instructor if you feel like your work is being copied or you are being harassed in class, there is usually a zero tolerance policy on such things.

That being said I’d like to share my feelings on the matter.

First, what I experienced was a debate which at times would become heated. I personally love a heated debate as it is a symptom that you have someone who is ready to contend with you about something they have passionate feelings on. It is so much better than the “me too” replies as this will challenge you to dig deep, gather facts, support your opinion and poke holes in their argument. It will make you so much stronger than a “me too” post will and when you get done with the debate, you will have learned some new.

Maybe your opinions will change as a result of the debate, maybe not, maybe theirs will, maybe not. Either way you will take something away from that experience that cannot be substituted by any other method in my opinion, you will be support your beliefs and opinions using cited sources, critical thinking and developed communication skills. Sometimes people may yell which isn’t appropriate but that’s cool too, that usually means you’ve got a point so take it in good cheer. As long as it isn’t a personal attack I say let them vent all they want. You simply get an axe of truth and cut away at their argument until either winning, losing or reaching a stalemate.

Ok I am new here and I do thiink this is a great place to share common feelings expirences.

All my online learnign expirences have been postive, until this week. I have been is school 14 months now so I am not new with all this distance learning stuff. well here is besically what happened,

As you know discussion weeks take place, well I answered a DQ first and asked a question at the end. Then someone post there answer and it really seems like my answer right down to the question they asked the other classmates, OK i could have delth with this, but then the instructor actually comments and says thats a good question lets discuss futher. I went as far as to call my academnic conselor to ask it they could see timestamps becasue I posted mine first and I didnt want to be accused of copying . Ok second issue

I always make a very good effort to not make any refrence to imply I know how someone else feels or what they are thinking. When quoting I always use Quote original ..well I was writing about how people that have different persoanlitys display different traits. * we were all supposed to list different traits of a persoanlity) Well someone posted my name in the main class form( we are not supposed to do this but rather keep the tread neat and just click reply ) this is in regards to you my name and seemed to imply I has referred to her, and actally made a point of yelling at me in the Dq * caps) So I spoke to tech support , they read it and gave me a ticket nymber and said if I needed refrence, in there oponion in no way was my answer directed towards one individual....

Well what would really help me has anyone else ever expirenced anything like this? any suggestions on how to deal with issues such as these? Its just weird how I have made this so far and I am so close to my degree and all of a sudden im feeling like I dont even want to post, for fear I will get yelled at .
