(Originally communications/PR) Can someone suggest the best online university based on the following criteria:

- Shortest time to complete. I don't want to be buried in studies for 3 or 4 years. I want to get in and get out. The university isn't that important. Getting the / a degree quickly is. FYI - I have about 2 years worth of college credits from a Cal State and JC school but that was 18 years ago.

- Easiest work load. Again, my days are already jammed with work, travel and family. Easy and short over "big name" is fine.

As much as I hate to admit it, I'm looking for the easy way out. I'm willing to do the work required but am NOT looking for a regular 4 year university work load and time-line. Cost is also not that important.

Any insight, opinion, etc. is very appreciated.

~Ishq

Distance Learning, War, and I

Hello,

I am currently serving active duty in the US Army and am interested in doing some distance learning to facilitate the transition back to college when I get out. Basically I just want to take a few general studies courses like Math, English, History, etc... to knock out some of the boring classes I will have to do at some point or another to get any degree. I cant attend a normal university due to my constant training and deployments to the Middle East, and am shopping around for an online learning program that will most likely transfer its credits to an average state university. Ive done about a day of research so far and I was thinking about attending classes at University of Phoenix. I have come across some troubling reviews and posts about said university, and am reconsidering my options.

My questions are, should I stay with UoP since I don't plan on getting an all-out degree with them? Since I am in the military, money for classes is not an issue as they all get paid for while I am in. Would credits earned in UoP most likely be transferable to an average state university given that it is a regionally accredited university? If UoP is not the one I want, what university should I go with? Keep in mind, however, I have grown a lot in the service and unfortunately my terrible GPA from back in high school (<2.5) will not show that to any ivy league colleges, so it is unlikely that I would be accepted into their ranks.

A lot of this is new to me, so bear with me. Thank you for your time.

Dan

IELTS London

I will be working in London next year and I’m nervous and excited at the same time. Now I know no one can predict what the job markets going to be like in 2-4 years but I'm just wondering if I was interested in a job/career in the IT field would it be more logical to wait and get a bachelors or start off with a associates and go from there? I took some through a community college once, but some of the courses required coming to campus a couple of times, and thats not an option for me anymore. I would also prefer a school that doesn't require that I go through the entire regular application process(transcripts, test scores, etc) . Christian schools are also a plus, but not a requirement.

I was recommended Taylor University, everything looks great, but the tuition is $275 a credit hour, and thats a little difficult to pay out of pocket right now.

If anyone knows of any schools they think might fit this, or just some with really cheap tuition, please let me know. My spouse has high school degree.
Since overseas degree are not really worthy for USA companies, we had decided to get back to school together, and online education is our choice.

We had studied web-design by various online courses, like lynda.com, plus books, etc.

Now the skills and some practice are in place, but resumes require an upgrade.

Probably we need to find a college, which degree is recognized by employers, and ideally, this college got to have an option to pass exams when you feel ready.
E.g. some subjects are known well and we don't really need lectures, just straight to the exam.

Any advice would be highly appreciated!

fast language learning website - survey

Hi,

I'd
like to know whether you would be interested in a learning system enabling you
to assimilate much knowledge in a very short period of time. To be precise, it
would make the vocabulary learning faster by optimizing time of repetitions of individual
words thanks to a cutting edge algorithm.

Thanks, regards.

educational software

Is educational software has bad effects on students? im new here
Any advice for next step

I will be graduating in Dec. 09 with a B.A. in General Studies (just to get my first degree completed, I began in 1990 and finally able to finish). I am interested in the health field, admininstration, hospice, gerontology but have looked to a new first direction of Pharmacology, tech, etc. Any advice on what my next step should be in education. Eventually, I would like to look into the Pharm. D. degree but I have noticed I must start from the beginning. Can my B.A. help me at all in this field? Should I begin with just the certification of a Pharm Tech or do I have other options? I have asked many working professionals for their advice and have had little luck so I thought someone here may have some advice. Any and all is greatly appreciated. I might add, while I had been working, it was not in the medical field but business admin and purchasing, so I have zero experience under my belt.
