I am currently trying to find a school that offers a health science degree, but so far none has come up, I need help on this one.

Agreed -- if a PhD is the ultimate goal it's better to stick with regional accreditation.

If you're going for an eventual PhD I would recommend you go to a regionally accredited college for your AS and BS.

Health Science is when you are getting into the chemical and research side of health, that's the best way that I can put it, if I were to get into health sciences, I would go up to a PHD. As for the medical assisting jobs, I live in Maryland and the jobs are plentiful and the pay is decent for medical assisting, and in Virginia, the pay is even more. Let's put it this way. In Maryland the starting pay is anywhere between $12-$16/hr in Virginia it's $12-$18hr in DC it's just about the same as Maryland. I live in the Metro area (Md, VA, DC). Jobs in these three states are plentiful no matter what healthcare field you get into because it's a big shortage around the metro area.

Especially for Medical Assisting, make sure there are jobs available in your area for you once you graduate. I know in South Florida the going rate for entry level Medical Assistants was only $9 to $10 per hour.

I would think they'd be fine for administrative positions. What is Health Sciences? You mean like nursing school? Medical Assisting? Things like that?

I think Ashworth and Penn Foster are probably pretty comparable to one another, they are very similar in approach and both have DETC accreditation. Are you on the admin side of healthcare?

Do anyone has an opinion on Ashworth, I am currently a penn foster student and I love the Medical Office Assistant Course that I am taking, and I want to try to work my way up to a BA or BS in Healthcare and I was looking at Ashworth College, I like the fact that they have forums and there courses seems more comprensive than Penn Foster, what do you guys think?
