Thanks for the heads up. Welch and his partners just bought the school, so while it's still on probation I would expect that the massive cash infusion will resolve that problem -- most schools on probation are so because of financial problems. As for AACSB accreditation, I continue to believe that it's nice to have, but vitally important only for those who later in their careers may wish to teach business at the university level.

That said, I'm not sure I'd do this MBA program for twenty grand when I could do an AACSB accredited MBA through the University of South Dakota for half as much. I might, if I thought this program would cover important material better or that the program were going to have a really strong alumni association, but there would have to be extra things like that there -- I wouldn't pay ten extra grand just for the name "Jack Welch".

That is interesting, I'm sure the program will be successful. Personally I don't care who my school or program is named after just so long as it meets other meaningful criteria. Good find.

I'm surprised nobody has psoted this yet, as it is perhaps one of the biggest news storeis affectiong online education. While Welch is obvivously an impressive figure in the business world, I would not do this online MBA because the school it is offered from, Chancellor University, is on probation with it's accrediting agency and it is not AACSB accredited.
