Need a forum for people seeking information on a GED or any other institution other than a college .I have watched this forum for a while a there needs to be a forun separate from the others .

Obviously, you are quite aware on what happen in France. By checking the CHIC MBA thru ESCEM site, it seems that it's an online Global MBA. Have you been enrolled to this education ? Some said that the online MBA is without interest due to the lack of interaction between classmates, some don't share this opinion. How do you think about this CHIC MBA.

Anyone who has been involved in this education will be welcomed to share their experience and almost the add-value of this MBA. Thanks

Also, I would suggest a forum where people can post web links/sites related to e-learning.

that's the good point! education and learning must be shared to others. the more people commenting and shared about their stories,.the more the gain we have :). knowledge is free, right?

Informed choice is what it's all about ;-) If prospective students could talk confidentially with current students, what questions would they ask - and what answers would they get? What's going to be expected of them and how can they best get from where they are to where they need to be with a minimum of fuss and bother? What kind of culture exists at a specific school - are faculty, mentors, progress managers, and other students helpful - how tolerant are they about 'dumb' questions and thinking outside the box? And, of course, the purely 'mechanical' requirements about hardware, software, and your Internet connection - along with textbooks, multimedia presentations, outside links and other study materials. What about internal forums like this one, and teleconferencing, scheduled chat sessions, etc. Who does the teaching? How are assignments submitted? Who does the grading and what are the rubrics?

In effect, what really happens after you enroll and pay your tuition ;-)

Hi everybody - I think that it might be a good idea to have one or two more forums. Some of the other members have already made some good suggestions. I'd say that it might be nice to hear about the details of some programs because, as we all know, you can only learn so much from a website. Beyond that I would like to cast a vote for NOT adding an Off-Topics forum. It often promotes negativity and besides, there are other sites already available for these discussions. I think this is already a great site with lots of valuable information and I think it would be a good thing to maintain its focus.

A forum for the 'theory and practice' of e-learning might be useful, too. Many schools of education are still 'stuck on stupid' trying to revise and extend what was avant garde in the late 19th century, and you'd choke on the number of papers and articles that still reference research done in the '70s '80s and '90s as ne plus ultra! Others are truly very much into the latest and greatest technology - with a keen eye on the latest research on 'learner-centered' course design rather than merely dumping traditional courses online and pretending it's kosher ;-)

Unless you've been in a coma for the last 10-15 years, it's fairly common knowledge - even among the devout technophobes - that technology has taken quantum leaps and users are generally light-years more sophisticated than they were even as recently as five or six years ago. While it may be presumptuous to expect tenured faculty to be up-to-date on all this, they need to rely on their teaching assistants to keep them abreast of what actually works and what is smoke-and-mirrors. Thank God most of the distance learning schools are accepting recently graduated mentors, instructors, etc. with a master's degree for undergraduate level courses, and, of course, the full doctorate for graduate and post-graduate courses!

Clearly, it would be a HUGE bonus for all of us to compare notes about the scope and content of the courses as well as the delivery and mechanics - students, faculty, and administration.

I don't know if you know the ESCEM Group in France. This School obtained the accreditations EQUIS and AACSB and has created a new MBA which name is CHIC MBA. Its name comes from the ESCEM's values.
