AMDS = applied management and decision science; Walden's designation for specialized KAM (knowledge area modules) in business. They seem to be fairly uniformly consistent with their basic concept of 'breadth, depth, and application' for related courses, and fairly consistent about giving 5, 5, 4 hours credit for them, respectively.

Not a graduate, Nicole, but Walden was on my 'short list' and I was very impressed with the sheer quantity of detail they had online about the KAMs and the various 'residencies.' I did run across across of Walden grads - one business PhD, same as you and I hope to join, and several in education (EdD and PhD) - the consensus opinion was that the roughly 30 page papers along the way really paid off when it came time to the dissertation (that's where half the class traditionally arcs directly into a brick wall in most doctoral programs), along with all the usual 'rah-rah' you'd expect from graduates about their school being the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I'd go directly to Walden for answers; if you can't find it, look for a link to the site index or search engine at the top left of most pages; then either give them a call or e-mail.

I am looking to get some information from a Walden University graduate, hopefully from the AMDS program. I would first like to know if you can send me a picture of your diploma. I am currious what one from Walden looks like. Secondly could I get input on what having a PhD from Walden University has ment to your career since graduating?
