HI:

I want to become a elementary public school teacher in NYC. However, I work 8 hrs a day and would find it impossible for me to attend traditional schools like hunter or City College. So, I have decided to research masters in education programs leading to licensure and that are offered completely online. I am seriously considering Grand Canyon University or Western Governors. I would like to know if their Masters of Art in Education requires fieldwork, and if so can I postpone it until the last part of the masters program? Will I be able to do my student teaching in NYC? Thanks a lot for your help.

I am a RN. I woud like to pursue online BSN. I came across Grand canyon university. Does anyone know anything about this univesity. Is this a accredited university and not a dipoma mill.

Saint Josephs University VS. Grand Canyon University

I'm really inbetween these two for Universities for my MA is Teaching.

They both have a reciprocity to NJ

Saint Josephs University is really expensive, but I kind of feel better about it being closer to NJ

Do anyone have anything to add about these two schools?

I think I have narrowed my college choices to Oregon State, Grand Canyon and Ashford University. Has anyone gotten a Psychology degree from Grand Canyon?? Under their tuition and fees it says that they are $395/credit...is that correct?

I was able to finish my degree from Grand Canyon. They accepted a ton of tranfer credits and I was finished in three semesters.

$ 1,000.00 Early Enrollment Scholarship for any new student registering for the September 1st or June 30th start dates.

$ 2,000.00 Transfer Scholarship for any new Undergraduate student registering for the September 1st or June 30th start dates.

Military Tuition Discount - Active duty or recently retired Military students recieve a tuition discount of $ 200.00 per credit hour.

$ 1,000.00 Hero Scholarship - Available to any active duty Fire Fighters or Police Officers.

Well I'm thinking about going back to school yet again. I am a recent graduate of Ashford Universituy's Online program. Since the economy is been so, well just plain sucks. I feel there may be a need for me to already be heading back to school. I have been seriuous considering Grand Canyon University for there Special Education MA program with cert. I live in NJ and was wondering if it is accept to teach here? I'd love to hear from other student from NJ who have had experience with the program.

Hi Everyone! I have just recently received my education specialist (I teach special ed) in California and my district pays pretty well for those who get their masters degree. However I am looking for a school that offers a non-thesis masters program online. The many searches I have done have uncovered little other than those dreaded degree mills. I have no problem taking the classes but I am so over conducting research and writing like 100 pages. I know they are out there but often they are not in education related fields. Anyone know of anything that might help?
