Friends,

Can anyone give me some tips on the proctored exam, I am finishing my 6th class and will have to take the exam before I can enroll in the next class. Do I need to take all the textbooks to the testing center? whats the best approach to the exam?

Any inside to the exam is greatly appreciated.

I don't think I made that comparison at all. With any collection of courses in any field, some courses will be beasts and some will be cake-walks. Whether the experience is the same for all has to do, I think, with beckground and skills - you might be a natural at math, and take to an algebra class easily, whereas the same class would be a bear for me. Other aspects of individual courses might also play into the equation, such as the total volume of expected work; thus far, every course I've taken in the Aspen MBA program specifies a minimum assignment length of "200-300 words." Some course modules have contained as few as five individual assignments, while others have had as many as fourteen. Neither was "easy," per say, but the former was much, much easier than the latter. I also found that the bar was set much higher in the Finance course than it was in the Marketing Management course. I was looking for insight from folks who might have been through the program in these regards.

For those who may follow me, looking for similar insight, it's initially looking like I have chosen well, as neither course is a true beast. In their current iterations, eBusiness is much easier than Business Ethics, with shorter assignments, but a perplexingly poorly-written text. I would expect feedback on said book to significantly change the course setup at some time in the future. YMMV.

An finally, I passed the exam. Though it is graded pass/fail, there was a minimum passing grade of 60%, so I was disapointed not to hear back on how well I did. I just got an email from the registrar indicating that I'd passed.

I'll be attempting Business Ethics and eBusiness at the same time, I work a 3rd shift job that is comprised mostly of sitting and staring at the walls, and barring one family emergency, I've had little trouble completing classes with time to spare.
On another note, I took my mid-program exam on Friday. I think it went very well, but time will tell. I found it to be very much like the standard assignments. It seems to me that they simply took one review/chapter end question at random from the textbook for each class and popped them all onto one page. Of the six, I chose three to answer. I used the entire four hours and could likely have gone for two more.

I took courses at Aspen as Online-Independent (and my company was kind enough to supply the $$)... I had no choice but to go one at a time... worked out for the best, though...

I agree with Cajun. Aspen requires a lot of writing, and the courses can be intense. I would advise you to concentrate on one class at a time, then move on to the next.

I want to echo what the others are saying. I tried to push myself too hard when I was completing my Master's and I hit the wall in what would have been my last semester, flunking two of my three courses. Be very careful of burnout, it's a killer!

I agree with Cajun. Aspen requires a lot of writing, and the courses can be intense. I would advise you to concentrate on one class at a time, then move on to the next.

Hi Folks,

Just getting ready for my mid-program exam (standard MBA program), and I was wondering if anyone could recommend the easiest two courses of the second half (I'm taking things in order) along with some reasoning why they were easy for you? My wife and I are expecting, and I'll be taking two courses at once to try and finish up before my time gets eaten up by family stuff. Which two should I be able to handle simultaneously? Thanks in advance.

I took my final essay format exam last week and got the results today.

I passed!

Now I am moving on to the Capstone Project!
