    Need some help please ...

    Hello

I have been researching online schools for so long now and am totally getting caught up in the 'ample' reading and various links.  Not to mention, drowning in trying to find whether or not the school is actually properly accredited or just a 'scam'.

I am a mature student and do not live in the US (live in Canada) and would like to attain a BS in alternative med.  I did find a program at Everglades University but, am so scared now of picking a 'bad' online school.  Is this school OK????

Another big hurdle I am finding is, whether or not, any of the schools I am looking at (most of which are US based for some reason) offer an accreditation that is 'valid' here in Canada.  To make a long story really short, I am getting a bit discouraged and starting to wonder really, if this is going to pan out at all.

Online learning is the 'perfect option' for me but, the kicker is trying to find a 'valid school' so, I can get started.

If anyone has any advice, guidance, suggestions, ideas ... please, I really would welcome them at this point.

    Thanks so much

All of the schools listed here on eLearners are accredited.  Most are regionally accredited with some being DETC, etc.  You don't have to attend an American University however, you have a somewhat inexpensive, quality school in Canada http://www.athabascau.ca/

Everglades University www.evergladesuniversity.edu is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Career Schools and Colleges of Technology www.accsct.org , which holds recognition from the United States Department of Education www.ed.gov . In the United States, accredition from an accrediting agency which holds recognition from the United States Department of Education www.ed.gov and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation www.chea.org is what makes a school legit.

Re: Need some help please ...

Athabasca is a good school, but does not have a program in Alternative Medicine.  Similarly, the link kcdpas suggests is to MBAs.

As for Everglades, it's expensive and unremarkable, and its national accreditation might pose a problem if you're interested in graduate work later (such as Oriental Medicine, Naturopathic Medicine, Counseling, or Chiropractic).  However, it does have such a distance learning program at all, and that's a pretty rare thing.

I must have missed the alternative med thing...hmmm.....yeah, your choices are likely to be fairly limited there.
