What do you all think about the degree itself?  Should I be aiming for an MBA?  I want to manage IT personnel, and I want to be sure I get the absolute best degree for this goal.  Thank you once again.

Ultimately, yes, I think you should have your eye on an MBA.  But a Bachelor's in something IT is probably a good first start since you can probably knock it out of the way fastest.  Just make sure to fill your electives with basic business administration courses so you'll have met any prerequisites for MBA programs that interest you.

    Hi Steve and Cajun,

Now that you mentioned CLEP, I was wondering if most colleges accept CLEP for upper division classes (junior, senior year, 300 and 400 levels courses, what ever you want to call them.)?

Are all colleges the same in regard to what level they accept?  When I look at the clep courses being offered in my area (I assume they are the same ones being offered in all areas of the country), they seem to be lower level, general education courses.  I am aware that most colleges require you take the major's core and required courses, but can you clep out of upper division elective credits in the major?  Cajun, this is in particular to Southwestern, well at all colleges really. I never really understood how Clep works.

    Thanks in advance!!

No, CLEP is exclusively a lower-division phenomenon.  However, There is a similar program called DSST a few of the tests for which are considered upper division, and there are also Excelsior College Exams many of which are upper division.  However, most schools only recognize CLEP.

Colleges differ on what they accept.  However, many schools accept the recommendations of the American Council of Education, which has evaluated CLEP exams.

I think Steve pretty much answered for me.  That being said however, Southwestern is pretty much like everyone else in how CLEP works, lower division credits only.  It is worth noting that Southwestern does not offer an Associates degree program but will accept transfers.  Otherwise if you enroll the goal, even at earning lower division credits is the BS or BA.
