    Re: New to the Board

I think if you're happy, then you probably made the right choice, or at least right enough.  And I know what you mean about doing better than did when you were younger -- a lot of adult learners have a similar experience!

    Re: New to the Board

    Hi Steve,

I am very happy actually, thanks for your feedback.  I have a question though that I was wondering if you may know the answer to.  I am in the Bookkeeping
Cert program like I said and I am on module 7 (a little more than half way thru). An enrollment advisor said that I could enroll in additional programs like an associates program for instance, after I have been a student for 3 months.  I have been for three months now, so I plan on of course finishing this BK Cert to obtain a job. I wish to continue on to complete an associates degree in human resources.  I signed up for the associates tonight and put the down payment down.  I received a new student ID.  However, When I tried to create a new user name and password with this ID is said my application is still being processed.  When I enrolled last time in the BK program I was able to access immediatley.   The error message said to contact them (theyr'e closed right now).  It also stated I need to take a basic skills assesment test for this program.  Do you Steve know why I am not able to access my  new associate lessons?  Could it be because it is late tonight, or did I skip a step, or maybe I am not eligible to sign up for this program yet?  I began my studies in Jan.  Another question I have is do you always get a new student ID number for every program?  I appreciate it if you could give me your insight if you  have the answers to these questions.  Of course I will call them in the am.  Thanks, CathyBig Smile

    Hello,

I'm a Health Information Technology from Penn Foster. Now I'm waiting the proctor exams to finish the 2nd semester (I hope I can started the 3rd semester soon). Do you start your AS with Penn Foster? If yes, do you like? I love it! The only complaint is the student services and shipping time. I never see any kind a shippiment take more than 10 business days, but that's the price we have to pay to have low tution. It's worth the money.

    Hi jessica,

i was wondering how long it took you to get your high school diploma through penn foster.

I enrolled last year (currently if i were in school i'd be a junior) and by the end of the summer i should or iould like to be done... did i rush too fast or is it ok to finish early.. and afterwards what did u do beause now that i have completed 66 out of 102 lessons i find myself asking what am i going to do after im done oh and how long did it take for your diploma to come and in the mail.

I fel like because i did online school that i won't have the same options as someone who graduaed from a regular school.

If you could give me your opinion it would help alot

    thanks

Hey, welcome to the club!  Which program are you taking?  I'm in the Marketing program and I am currently in my second semester.  So far, things are going very well and I have earned 17 credit hours.

Congrats to you and good luck on your program.  Remember, the biggest things in life start with a single seemingly small step.

I'm in the accounting program.  :)

I kinda flunked out of a major univeristy in 2005 and can't go back because I owe them 3k & they want that upfront.  Even if I had the 3k to pay them, my grades SUCKED & to register at any college in this state would require me to send them that awful transcript.  I decided to go with Penn Foster so I could start fresh.

If that's worked for you, then it's great that you got that second chance.  I didn't do that well my first time in college either -- young and distracted!

Don't fret about your freshman year of college.  My freshman year consisted of some D's and a few dropped courses and I think a C here and there.  Needless to say there is a learning curve when entering college.

I am currently going for my Associates Degree in PC Maintenance Technology. Still in my first semester, will be getting ready for a proctored exam shortly.I actually enjoy doing this. It's so much easier than having to commute to a school and sit in a classroom all day.

I'm enrolled in the Computer Information Systems program with Penn Foster.  How long have you been enrolled in the PC Maintenance Technology program?  I had a hard time deciding which program might be better to take.

Re: Any other Penn Foster College Students?

I was something of a math moron in high school.  I never did learn how to do algebra.  However, the PFC math courses are great and now I can do math problems that I would have just skipped in high school.  I worked hard, but in the end I accomplished something I never could before.

By the way, your posts will be much easier to read if you just write out the full words and skip the text-message speak.  Some of us here don't text and need a translator to understand the abbreviations.
