As I posted here earlier I already have a high school diploma ,but I was issued a "special diploma " which is worthless .I am studying for a GED now, but are there any online high school that a regionally accrediated community college will accept other than a GED ?

Hi try Continental Academy, it is regionally accredited by SACS and the cost is only $400 for the entire program.  My brother obtained his high school diploma from there and it was good enough to land him admissions to Southern New Hampshire University, which he currently attends.

There are many online high school options.  Some states have free online high school programs for state residents, so you'll want to look into that first. 

Other good options include Penn Foster High School, Ashworth University High School, and  Keystone High School. 

sacred, youre very knowledgeable about many topics, I'm entering into the mED program at GCU and want to pick your brain for information: Teachers - which ones to watch out for, what classes are rough, etc...

If you want to read a little more about it, one of our bloggers, Steve, has two daughters that are enrolled in Penn Foster's High School program. (Read one of his posts here.)

Might give you some insight about the program.

I should mention that I have enjoyed those posts (and Steve's blog in general). One of the very nice things is that, compared to other online high schools, Penn Foster is quite reasonably priced. Right now I think it is about $1495 for the entire program. If you watch carefully, they do regularly have "sales" where they drop the cost.

In addition to his website, Tom also has a couple of very useful books: _Complete Guide to Online High Schools_ and its predecessor _Bears' Guide to Earning High School Diplomas Non-Traditionally_.

I hope Tom Nixon doesn't mind me mentioning a competitor, but there is also Vincent Kiernan's _Finding an Online High School_.

I don't mind at all. More than a few people have found it helpful to buy both. I own both. They are different books. Mine focuses on online high school programs and his focuses on online high school courses (so, thus, has lists of many, many courses). It seems to me that the goals of the readers are different.

tHANKS for the replies but I still am not sure which one of the online HS 's will be more accepted  ? Other than a GED .

More accepted for what?  Admission into college?  Any regionally accredited high school should be equivalent to another. 

Any online high school with regional accreditation should be acceptable to most colleges. What might be helpful is if you picked two or three that are of interest to you and post the names here.

I am more interested in Penn Foster and Ashworth but I want a diploma that will help me better achieve my goal of eventually going to college.I want a school that has the most credibility,yes a GED is better all around  but,I have many reasons for choosing online the number one is time.
