Here is my personal testimony with TUI in a MS degree
program.
Enrollment is a breeze and the counselors work directly with
you to ensure your success. They are
very knowledgeable and helpful in every single aspect of the entire
process. They send reminders about
registering for the next semester and ensure tuition is paid on time. This is very important because course
materials is on a CD-ROM and is released for shipping after the individual pays
for tuition. Going on my 8th
class and received all course materials well before course start date. Another advantage of TUI is that you get to
keep the CD-ROM which is jammed packed with tons of important information
pertaining to you specific area of expertise.
No hassles with outdated books or buying and selling books.
The professors are outstanding instructors and valuable
mentors. There are generally two ways to
keep in contact with the professor is through the forum or via e-mail. The forum is a terrific tool that the
instructor will ask a question and everyone responds to the seed question. The students then take over and ask each
other questions, that is professionally arguing over the topic or expanding on
each others post. The instructor chimes
in to redirect the discussion as required.
I find the forum very fun and we learn from each others past and present
experiences.
All instructors are very understanding when it comes to your
education and personal issues that may arise.
They will grant you extra time if needed to complete an assignment but
the key is to request an extension. I do
not recommend extensions but instead sticking to the schedule and finding time
to do your school work. This will give
you an opportunity to really get the most out of the class. Proper time management, personal discipline
and setting goals are key factors one should consider before engaging in an
online course.
I am graduating this Summer 08 from TUI with a MS degree in
Information Technology Management and truly find this as a challenging and
rewarding degree. TUI is without any doubt
a terrific university. I did attend
University of Phoenix (UOP) for my BS degree and after attending TUI, I do
prefer TUI over UOP. The main reason is
that TUI does not have a requirement for a group project.
Hopefully this answers the question and provided more information
in helping others in selecting the right university.
Sincerely,
Dave
