Thanks for the info. I will look into the Aussie's ITMaster's program. Since this is a forgein degree, may I ask how it is perceived in US by large employers?

Do you have many technical certifications?  I ask because if what you're looking for is a way to show what you already know while putting all the pieces of your knowledge together, I wonder whether one of the IT Masters programs from Australia's Charles Sturt University might be right for you.  Half of your coursework consists of a technical cert, like MSCE CCNP, or whatever, there are a good number from which to choose.  The rest of the degree is integrative coursework.

Yes, I had MCSE on NT4.0 and CCNA, but I let them expired. cuz I did not feel like to make Bill Gates and John Chamber richer:). Those cert can help you get in the door and that was it.  I have more job related specific cert such as Rx Admin and Medication Orders and Dell Server and Workstaion cert.

I don't think you'll have much of a problem with the Aussie program, they are a reputable school.

Are they RA equivalent? The tuition is kind high, $2100 per course as stated on their web site.

Yes, like other Australian universities, Charles Sturt University is considered the equivalent of regionally accredited.

$2100 is a lot per course, but if you have a certification already (or can pass those tests easily) then that's half the program, and the other six courses together would only be $12,600, which isn't bad for a Master's.  Take two courses at a time and you'd be done in just one year.

Guys, if you click on someone's screen name in one of their posts it will take you to a screen where you can sent them a Private Message or an Email.  That's much better than putting your phone numbers on this forum.

    Steve,

what happens if I replied a private message? is the reply goes to the person who sent the message or else?

I did not pay much attention may have done that:)

Then only that person will see it.  The interface is identical, though, so I can understand why you weren't sure.

    Re: Aspen University

Since you are currently attending AU, do you know if they taking previous trainings and wave the electives? For example, American Management Association offers: Information Technology Project Management Seminar #6516 cost: $1795 for members and it indicate the seminar is 3 days/1.8 CEUs / 18 PDUs. Also, Microsoft technical trainings, such as SQL server 2000 admin, IIS6 admin and Citrix Metaframe admin, Crystel Enterprise, etc.

    Thanks!

     Quote from jwthornhill:

I'm a recent graduate of Aspen University's MSIT program and currently enrolled in the MBA IM program. I can honestly say that I was both pleased and impressed with the curriculum and materials in all of my courses. I'm not sure about the MSIS curriculum but, in their MS Information Technology program they focused on how to combine the power of computing with the study of managerial know-how and social issues to strategically solve current problems and to creatively research future IT solutions. I had a very diverse group of instructors who were extremely helpful in applying the practical application of my studies to my current job. And, my Capstone Advisor went above and beyond to assist me through every aspect and step of my final project.

My personal opinion is that Aspen has been extremely beneficial to both my educational and professional life. On the graduate level, I think the final analysis is that you only get out of any school program what you put into it.

    Good Luck Wink
