    Hi tcord,

I am enrolled in the management course at CCU too. It would be nice to know and talk to someone who is going throught the same course. Send me an email with your number to tgoodnow@aacisd.com and I'll call you. I live in the Virginia Beach area.

Just to clarify, I am a student at Penn Foster College, not CCU.

Is it really only 80$ per credit hour at Ashworth University? I was looking at their page and it says there that its 250/credit...

A Master's degree at Ashworth costs $250 per credit hour.  A bachelor's degree is $80 per credit hour.

Ma bad guys... I was looking at Ashford University when I posted that message... Has anybody heard about someone go to Ashworth? I think it's a good deal ($80/credit) and I'm thinking to continue my Bachelor's there as soon as I finish my Associate's.

    hi Jessica

I just signed up for semester 1 of health information technology from Penn Foster.  do you have any opinions of the school ?  i was a little turned off by how easy it was to get accepted.  I can't speak for the courses though since I have not started.  For me it was the choice of paying $30,000 at $300 a month to go to devry or take advantage of the low rates of Penn Foster which I have to start paying now.  It was an easy decision, i went with Penn Foster.

Sounds like you weighed your choices carefully.  Out of curiosity, though, why were you turned off by it being easy to be accepted?  Isn't the same thing true of community colleges?

That was pretty much my reaction, too.  Many for-profit online colleges have "open enrollment", just like any community college.  If you sign up and pay your money, you're in.

Don't be fooled into thinking that because it was so easy to get in the work will be a piece of cake.  PFC makes you EARN that degree.

Wink Hey! I've been enrolled in Penn Foster's career diploma for medical office assistant and also as of October,9th of this year i started semester 1 for my Health Information Technology Associate degree.I really like the online expiernce because with working full time it gives me the benefit to complete assigments on my time. I've been with Penn Foster Since 2002, i completed my High School credits through them and went on with the career diploma and then on to the associates degree. I wouldnt change anything about the programs ive taken there very information gaining.

If anyone has any question feel free to ask me.

    Hi, Jessica!

I'm very interested in the Health Information Technology Program and wanted another student's input. How is the program? Are the courses difficult? Does Penn Foster send all of your textbooks for the semester at one time? I would definitely like to start either in January or February. Your input (and others that are taking this program) would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

    Roseanna,

I'm curious as to how you're liking the PF photography classes so far.  I've considered taking them myself, but wasn't sure how they'd be so I thought I'd ask someone who's in the middle of it!  Let me know your honest opinion.  Photography seems like it would be hard to learn without a live class and instructor.  Tell me I'm wrong!

Hello. I just enrolled today, so you have a jump on me. I was hoping you would like to share you experience with this course. How do you like it? What don't you like? I look forward to hearing from you.

    Early Childhood Education

    Hi tigrl86,

I'm thinking about enrolling at Penn Foster College for the Associate Degree in ECE.  I read your post, you have been in the program for a while, what can you tell me about it?  Just a little info...I have to have an associate degree because the No Child Left Behind Act states I have to.

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    PMinPA

    New to the Board

    Hello,

I am a student, I am returning to college now that the kids are in school full time, so I am not a spring chicken. However, I signed up to be a student with Penn Foster in January, and I think it is working out great for me.  I am not a very disiplined individual, I mean I get easily distracted so I was kinda nervous about my own abilities to keep up with the program. I am taking the Bookkeeping Certification Program.  I work from the books they send in the mail.  So far I have taken 6
exams and my lowest score has been 90%.

In high school and college (which I never finished) I was a poor student that struggled to maintain a C average.  I did have an accounting course and I remember crying out of frustration because I d it and did not get it at all.  Now, that I am older I am understanding the accounting principles and stuff.  I never thought I could do well.  So my question to fellow students out there is whether or not Penn Fosters Programs are challenging? I just don't know how excited I should get over my good grades that I have never gotton in my lifetime.

I am doing this program so I may return to the workforce, and I just want to be sure that my education from Penn Foster will be taken seriously by employers.Confused

I hope my question isn't offensive to other Penn Foster Students who are working hard at their programs.  I just really don't know the true reputation of this school and how employers view an education obtained from there.  Probably something I should have looked in to before I started, but, I didn't.  What do you think? Geeked
