    Advantage/s of Distance Learning

Distance learning is one of the fast growing trend in the field of education...

What makes distance learning different from an on-campus learning? Would this be as effective as the actual learning gained from the school? How can you convince people to make this an alternative tool?

    Re: Advantage/s of Distance Learning

Distance learning is the process of creating an educational experience of equal qualitative value for the learner to best suit their needs outside the classroom. Rather than attending courses in person, teachers and students may communicate at times of their own choosing by exchanging printed or electronic media, or through technology that allows them to communicate in real time and through other online ways. Distance education courses that require a physical on-site presence for any reason including the taking of examinations is considered to be a hybrid or blended course of study. This emerging technology is becoming widely used in universities and institutions around the globe. With the recent trend of technological advance, distance learning is becoming more recognized for its potential in providing individualized attention and communication with students internationally.

    Kamusta ka na?

We've noticed here a sudden vast increase in the number of students from the Philippines here, especially either asking questions about the effectiveness of distance learning or else offering opinions on the subject.  Welcome to you all!

Out of curiosity, are you all part of a class that's been assigned specifically to participate in an online forum like this one?  Perhaps so that you have a sense of what it's like for if you ever instruct an online course yourself?  I mean, that's perfectly fine if that's the case, we're just interested to know!

    Regards,

Distant Learning is perfect for someone who works a regular shift job who only have time during the night to study. Especailly now, people can not afford to quit their job and go full time as a student because of financial situation. That's when distant learning can solve the problem for them.
