    Associate's Degree in Business Management

    Hey all,

I'm looking to enroll in PF's Associate's Degree in Business Management and was curious to see if anyone had any comments on the program. I see that there are a few people on here that have started the program and I would like to know what you think about it.

    Thanks!

Are there any particular aspects of the program about which you're hoping to learn more?

Nothing in particular, really. Just wanted to get an idea of what the course was like. I've read some of the comments on here and other Penn Foster boards about how challenging some of the course are, Financial Accounting for example. Really just looking for thoughts from those that have taken the course or are currently taking the course. I realize that it will definitely be a challenge, especially with working full time and raising a family, just want to make sure that I'm not getting in over my head on this. I know that it's going to take alot of time to devote to this but I don't want to miss my kids growing up either, ya know? Basically I'm just looking for any info whatsoever, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

A good start is to check out my blog here at eLearners, My Penn Foster College Experience.  I am currently a student at Penn Foster, and I have really enjoyed.  Keep in mind that this isn't really an "online" program.  It is basically a correspondence program, with most materials being mailed to you, including textbooks.  You take the majority of your exams online, with the exception of the final proctored exam for each course.

There is help available by calling the instructors, which I have actually never done, but otherwise you are on your own in your studies.  Some of the courses were a bit easy for me, but others (you mentioned accounting) are quite rigorous.  Overall, I have been very satisfied with my studies at Penn Foster College and I have learned a lot.

I agree, check out Terry's blog.  Also you can check out one of any number of threads here that have been about Penn Foster.  The deal with this school is that bang for buck wise, they're a tough act to beat.

Thanks for the info guys. How much of the course info is in book form and how much is online? Anyone know? I know that the tests are submitted online (except for the proctored exams) but is any of the course materials online, ie. pdf files, etc.

I'm not sure, I know Ashworth College had all the quizzes online as well.  Maybe Terry can chime in here.

I wouldn't be afraid to contact the school itself to ask these sorts of questions.  They shouldn't be controversial or anything.
