I'm new here.. could use some info

I'm thinking of going with UoP for an associate's in criminal justice, and i was wondering if anyone had already been through any similar classes? Experience? Opinion?

            Thanks Rob

Rob, there are a ton of other, less expensive options than UofP.  Have you checked around some?  Just to kick things off check http://www.elearners.com/search/online-degrees/associate/criminal-justice.htm?page=1

You may also want to check into an Associates in General Education with an emphasis in Criminal Justice to later transfer into a BS or BA program.  Ft. Hays State U. is good as is American Public University and Charter Oak State College.  What do you intend to use the degree for?

I know a police officer who teaches online courses part time for Phoenix.  He says they get a bad rap sometimes; that they're no less rigorous than anyone else.  They also have an unusually strong focus on group work, which some people like and others dislike.  (I'd dislike it, but that's me.)  As others have said, you have a lot of options, and Cajun's linked to them.

I really do value everyone's opinion. I have done quite extensive searching  for online classes.  Believe me if  i could  attend regular wall to wall classes- i would. Given my health i'm not permitted to drive and won't be able to for some time. After talking with a few schools, i felt more reassured with UoP. At least for the 60 credits for the assosiates , then i can either stay ,  or transfer to finish my remaining 60 for bachelor's in juvenile justice.

                  Thank  you

In that case, consider Axia College, which is part of the University of Phoenix but is less expensive than their four year division.

    Good luck!

I am graduating with an AACJ next April 2010, at first my basic courses were not as hard, yes they do get harder when you are in your core classes focusing around your degree. I feel this has been a positive learning expirence for me . What also has helped was I choose electives which would work well with my degree, psy classes, cultural diverisites and such. In my expirence with distance leanring I was able to use a lot of what I have learned in class, in my life out of online class.

Kerri, was your AACJ through Phoenix or Axia?
