soto:I have never used infotrac in any course..so I buy the books cheaper without it.
On another note..Ethics is the easier course. Finance the prof is fairly hard for Aspen...more demanding I'd say.
Finally...people for heavens sake the open book multiple choice exam is pretty much a joke.
You need what to pass a 70 or 75? Seriously, you would have to work hard to fail to exam
We are talking open book...and Id say 50% of the questions could be answered by a smart high school student with basic common sense.
Really the quedstion mostly ran course by course...so once you are in a text its 6-7 in a row from the same text...pretty easy eh?
Glad to hear the MC test was easy... for me, after seeing the PMI wording of their exams, I'm a bit more wary about how tests can be worded.. if I had needed to take some MC tests during the coursework, I might have looked at that option differently... as it is, I am much more comfortable with an essay format... also, with the 'choice' approach, I was able to avoid CorpFin and MgrAcct ... always a 'plus' once I finished those two... (I went for an MBA-IM, and have over 25 years in IT... ma not an accountant, nor would I ever want to play one on TV...)
I agree the CorpFin prof was tough - but I kinda liked that as well... I expect to work to earn a Masters Degree... while I wouldn't say the BusEthics prof was tough, I was able to engage in some rather interesting dialogue via email...
As to the books, I went for the 'new' versions for each course... there were a few courses where I actually used them... for the MgrAcct course, I actually paid for a few hours of tutoring to get past a particulary tricky (for me) part...
Would love to see D.B.A degree at Aspen (am even interested in the EdD degree, if the family budget allows)
