    Re: Aspen University

Thanks alot. I did my MBA in Project Management.

You can take final once you are done with your classes. There is no restriction on Capstone. Final can also be taken after Capstone but I would suggest you take final right after the completion of your course work(Classes).

    Thanks

    Sam

    Re: Aspen University

Hi Kibele- Thanks for reaching me. Plz confirm with Suzanne (Aspen administration lady), if you can take your final after 5th course.

I took Multiple choice test. There were in total 110 questions and 70% is passing. You will have 2.5 min for each question. Which means you must correctly answer 80  questions. It appeared that around 8-10 questions were taken from each course. I thought there wouldn't be any calculation questions but I encountered one question from Accounting(that required calculation).

I would say, keep all text books(referred books by the teachers) with you. 50% of the questions were directly or indirectly related to the definitions. There were some questions which you can answer with the best of your knowledge and understanding of the course.

Make sure to take Business Ethics book with you. I didn't have it and there is no way you can guess ethic questions.

You can go back to previous questions. You will see "End Test" Button only on last question. So if you go back to review the questions, make sure you have enough time to come back to last question and click End test. Otherwise you have to call University admin and programmer will pull out the results for you(it happened to me). If you complete your test on time. You will get the result right away.

If you know where the question is taken from. you can always look in the book(Index) and find out the answers.

If you have any other questions, feel free to email me.

    Thanks
    Sam

    Re: Aspen University

If I'd be you , I would  take Business Ethics now...Its lot of reading and thinking, Finance is easy as long as you understand the concept and do calculations.

Sam...  I have to admit I got a chuckle out of what you suggested...  for me, it was exactly the opposite...  Business Ethics was a breeze, and Corporate Finance was, by far, the toughest for me (my background is in programming, not business) in the entire curriculum...  managerial accounting was second-toughest  (survived both, though)

It all depends on what you're previous schooling is in, kibele...

    Re: Aspen University

Hi, actually I like mathematics and hate much reading. For example I like marketing but I fed up when I was rading marketing management book.

Also today i received the business ethics book. this is the requested edition. Business ethics with one thomson info track. however the passcode for online library was removed.

Does it necessary? Does instructor refer stg from the online library or out of book? i do not know actually what is info track included. it says it is online library.

has anyone took business ethics course advice me to buy infotrack part as well?

    Re: Aspen University

I have never used infotrac in any course..so I buy the books cheaper without it.

On another note..Ethics is the easier course. Finance the prof is fairly hard for Aspen...more demanding I'd say.

Finally...people for heavens sake the open book multiple choice exam is pretty much a joke.

You need what to pass a 70 or 75? Seriously, you would have to work hard to fail to exam

We are talking open book...and Id say 50% of the questions could be answered by a smart high school student with basic common sense.
Really the quedstion mostly ran course by course...so once you are in a text its 6-7 in a row from the same text...pretty easy eh?

Glad to hear the MC test was easy...  for me, after seeing the PMI wording of their exams, I'm a bit more wary about how tests can be worded.. if I had needed to take some MC tests during the coursework, I might have looked at that option differently...  as it is, I am much more comfortable with an essay format...   also, with the 'choice' approach, I was able to avoid CorpFin and MgrAcct ...  always a 'plus' once I finished those two... (I went for an MBA-IM, and have over 25 years in IT... ma not an accountant, nor would I ever want to play one on TV...)

I agree the CorpFin prof was tough - but I kinda liked that as well... I expect to work to earn a Masters Degree...  while I wouldn't say the BusEthics prof was tough, I was able to engage in some rather interesting dialogue via email...

As to the books, I went for the 'new' versions for each course...  there were a few courses where I actually used them...  for the MgrAcct course, I actually paid for a few hours of tutoring to get past a particulary tricky (for me) part...

Would love to see  D.B.A degree at Aspen (am even interested in the EdD degree, if the family budget allows)

Yes. I was in the program for three years, and if I recall correctly, it was introduced two years ago...  while not a fan of extra fees, it is not uncommon for colleges to introduce various mandatory fees...
