This may sound harsh, but why should you care whether your admissions salesperson "understands" that their employer isn't the right school for you?  This is one of the biggest investments you'll ever make; you need to ruthlessly make the right choice for you, and you alone.  Anyone who questions that doesn't deserve the time of day from you.  And Cajun's dead on about getting things in writing.  Trust no one.
