    living abroad

I’m considering teaching courses online.  However I live abroad.  I’m a US citizen and return to the US every three months for a week or two.  Would I be disqualified as an adjunct instructor because I live abroad?  How do online universities feel about instructors living in a foreign country?

    Thanks,

     Paul

    Hi Paul,

If you're a citizen/permanent resident and have a U.S. bank account that should be all that really matters.  As an aside, though, I'd think that unless you tell them, they wouldn't even know, especially if your CV has your American address on it.

    Thanks Steve for your response.

If anyone else has knowledge or experience working as an online instructor while living abroad, I would very much like to read about it.
