    Programs Costs from Different schools?

I will post what I paid in hopes that others will come forwards for different course costs to help those of us who intend to continue but are looking for the best deal.

I went to ECPI College of Technology got my Associates in Networking Administration and Security Management ( No longer offered under this name ) 28,000 in the end.

Includes books, and the choice to go to the local campus or online courses if you so desire.

Personal opinion. Overpriced for a simple associates however one of the better pieces was you could when I went to the campus test out of classes and get your money back. I did not choose to do this as I never really thought I knew the topics at the time as well as it turns out I did.

Personally I am looking for a bachelors in networking or security whatever for the cheapest place is that I can get in. I wouldnt mind testing out.

I finished my BSBA at Colorado Technical University.  26 classes cost over 40,000.  My company at the time had unlimited tuition assistance so I didn't mind the cost but it was extremely expensive.  The program was very challenging and I feel like I learned a great deal but if I were paying for it out of pocket I would not have been able to afford it.  This was also more of a personal goal for me rather than a career goal; as I am still with the same company; I don't know what the payoff would have been and whether it would have supported the cost.

Remember that, in general, the MOST expensive schools tend to be the private, not-for-profits and the MOST inexpensive tend to be the public institutions, with the private, for-profits (such as ECPI College of Technology) fitting somewhere in between.

The "cheapest" route is to look for a public 4-year school in the state in which you reside in order to take advantage of in-state tuition rates. You can also CLEP your way out of some of the upper-level credits - see http://www.elearners.com/guide/distance-learning-best-kept-secret.asp and http://www.elearners.com/resources/clep.asp for more information on CLEP tests.

If you are not 100% set on the major but are looking for a technology major, check out Peru State College, Fort Hays State University and if you already have an AS you can check out Southwestern College www.sckans.edu.

CLEP doesn't actually help you meet upper division requirements, but there is a similar program called DANTES/DSST a few of the of which do carry upper division credit.  However, if your program didn't have much in the way of general education courses, and many nationally accredited schools don't, then you may get some mileage out of CLEP either way.

Peru State and Fort Hays are probably the least expensive regionally accredited four year schools.  The closest Peru State has to what you want is a B.S. in Business Administration with a "Computer and Management Information Systems" option, but it's more business than IT.  Fort Hays may be worth a special look, they have a B.S. in Information Networking & Telecommunications (Computer Networking and Telecommunications).

I'm not sure how well Fort Hays will receive your Associate's, though.  Not all regionally accredited schools accept credit from nationally accredited schools like ECPI.  They're definitely worth checking out first, though, as they're a good school -- the runner up in my search for a Master's program, actually.

    Good luck,
