Hi everyone :) 33 Year old father of one, looking to "get back in the game" online

    Hello everyone!

I was very excited to find these forums, because as a father of an 8 month old daughter, and someone who never finished college... I'm very excited about correcting that mistake.  I'm hoping that with your collective experience and guidance, I can make the right choice in where I choose to enroll.

I went to a handful of local colleges, my desire for college and for the degree itself completely died, and I just ended up self-studying to get IT certs.  I could afford a technical school at the time, and you couldn't use student loans for tech schools back then (1992-ish).  I work full time as a System/Network Admin/Engineer at an insurance company.  I heard a friend speaking about his MBA program, how he expects it to help his career, and it really made me think.  I'm making a "good" salary now, but I would really like to take the next step and get into IT management in the future.  Of course, part of my motivation is financial.  My goal is to make enough money that my wife can stop working, or only work part-time to take care of our daughter, and perhaps (if we are lucky enough) our next child.  I went to school from 92-94 straight (NYIT for accounting - bleh) and then here and there probably for a handful of credits.  I'm not sure if any of these credits will transfer to another college.

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself, and hope that you will all be patient and willing to give me as much assistance as possible to obtain my ultimate goal... which is an MBA.  Thank you all, in advance :)

Good luck on your MBA.  It's a tough road but if you have the grit to stick it out you'll be okay.  I read your other posting and I just wanted to say to remember that it's an endurance race, not a sprint, so make sure you don't burn yourself out too quickly.

    Oh, and welcome to eLearners.

Thanks :)  I'm just trying to take advantage of my current situation.  I have a lot of time during the day, which I can use for school work, and since my wife is so supportive, I have a window of opportunity I want to utilize.  I don't think it's an overnight process.  It's going to be long and hard, but at the end when I finish, it'll be well worth it.
