Hi, anyone work in the field of Human Resources?  I am going back to school for my masters and decided on a MBA with a concentration in Human Resources.  My BA is in Human Services/Mgt totally unrelated and I am currently employed as an Administrative Asst III.  I need a good career change, one where I can relate to people, possibly help them, but it remain in a corporate enviornment.  I think Human Resouces can provide that.  Any advice, or information?

I don't work in Human Resources but work with them directly on a daily basis.  HR is a very diverse group that covers many disciplines.  Ours is broken up into a Health care group, employee training group and employee relations.  Beside their daily responsibilities they serve on committees and put together all of our corporate functions.  The group has a VP of HR, a senior level manger for each section and departmental mangers inside the employee relations group.  Several have went on to receive certification.

There is a certification agency for human resources specialist that is broken into three levels at http://www.hrci.org/Certification/OV/ 

You can apply for certification after working in the field for at least two years in an exempt position according to the web site.

If you want something that would differentiate yourself, consider something from the UK's University of Leicester.  They're a top-200 university in the world, their Centre for Labour Market Studies is very progressive when it comes to online programs, and they cost less than many schools that are far less prestigious.
