    Re: Aspen University

I haven't taken Finance yet, so I'm no help on that question. =) However, in answer to Bobby's post, I've found that what works best for me is to take one course at a time in the independent mode. The independent mode allows you to work at your own pace (as long as you finish a course within 10 weeks), so if you like to work fast, you could finish a course in a month. Conversely, you can also take your time a bit and finish in 10 weeks. With interactive mode, you have to finish in 8 weeks, which I find a bit restrictive because it doesn't let me speed up and slow down as I may need. I think, with Aspen's program, it's much less stressful and more effective to only focus on one course at a time. I typically send away for books and register for my next course when I have about 3 weeks left in the current course, so there's no break in between courses.

    Re: Aspen University

    Hi,

This was a totally new subject for me. The prescribed book is great to understand the concepts and apply in real life situations. I learnt a lot from this course.

I had put approx 15 hours per week to finish the course. Instructor is helpful too.

If you have any other question, feel free to write back.

    Cheers.

    Re: Aspen University

    Hi Bobby,

I prefer online independent... but that s just me, because then I can manage my time myself. For the sake of experience, I will do one course as online interactive too. Doing one course at a time is good. At a good pace, one can finish the course earlier than 10 weeks. And last 2-3 weeks can be used to look into registration of next course, ordering books, notes etc. I tried to do multiple courses at a time, but it didnt work out for me, as I have other things at work and home for me, just like all of us!

So, I am more in favor of online independent, one course at a time, with an intention to finish course in time lesser than 10 weeks.

    Hope that helps.

    hi mdire,

May I ask where are you with your MBA program?  I will be mid way through by 10th June this year.

    Regards.

    Hey singh Big Smile

I'm about halfway through my fourth course- Managerial Economics. Oddly enough, it seems that the courses get progressively easier, or perhaps I'm just getting used to it. I hope this trend continues!

    Re: Aspen University

I agree with you totally mdire!

I was more concerned with Accounting and Finance, which I considered the most difficult for me, as I had no whatsoever knowledge/learning about the two topics... so took those two first. Success in these two has given me much confidence to go for the next ones.

Hopefully everything will go good :) I am very satisfied with the support by the administrative staff and instructors.

That's awesome that you got the hard ones out of the way first, singh. I just went in order, so Accounting came first, followed by some easier ones. I was afraid the whole program would be as intense as Accounting, but I was way off! I think I'll try your strategy and take Finance next. I would love to put that one behind me Wink.

This course provided me a great learning curve within an extremely short period of time. I wish I had paid more attention to the course in the beginning itself. Aspen staff and instructors are very helpful.

    Hi Abner,

How is the 'Managerial Economics' course? Is it more of theory (like org bhvr) or numericals (as in finance or Quant Ana.)?

You are on 8th course :) Great job man! Within how much time, are you planning to complete your MBA?

    Cheers

Thanks Abner. My next target is to get Quantitative Analysis off my back soon :)

Some home renovations are not allowing me to put as much effort as I want to though.
